“uncle tony’s coloring book” was originally released in 2007 and for years available exclusively on cd. since it s release, utcb gained a cult following, one that grew substantially after blockhead made the album available digitally in 2015. the demand increased for a proper vinyl release of the album and after 10 years it’s finally here.
young heavy souls has collaborated with blockhead to release “uncle tony’s coloring book” on a beautifully packaged double lp.

marq spekt and blockhead have teamed up once again for a new album titled keep playin. the duo’s latest project is a follow-up to their 2014 lp justplaywitit, one of that year’s best yet most slept-on projects. the broady champs mc and acclaimed producer link up to craft yet another gem that any underground hip-hop fan is sure to enjoy. the duo’s new album features 13 tracks filled with marq spekt’s unique brand of grilchy rhymes paired up with blockhead’s modern twist on boom bap production. sadat x of brand nubian, conway the machine and karniege are among the notable guests on this exclusive vinyl release.

new york hip hop producer tony simon aka blockhead returns with his third and best instrumental album for ninja tune. blockhead has long made beautiful, emotive music based around the hip hop template, but on >the music scene< he elevates his craft to another level.

trackmaster dre ode to the traditional squelching acid melting listful old school beats with grandmaster acid. the record contains decelerated beats married with laidback, thick and bubbly bass. the title track starts off as a raw and elastic dance floor mover, with a chamfer like 303 bassline that smooths out rougher edges. blockhead deuce is a simplistic track with shuffling drums that play with an impish bassline that squawks and squelches. old school viscid synths and bass keep an aloof feel with the progression in 4th.
