roland appel started producing music and spinning records in the early nineties. he was a member of fauna flash (together with christian prommer) and the trüby trio (with rainer trüby + christian prommer). in 2002 he released an album with peter kruder and christian prommer as voom:voom . with every project he toured the world and played clubs and festivals from montreal jazz festival, sonar festival to fabric london, new york, berlin and tokyo. from 2004 to 2006 roland lived in paris. during this time he started to write music for his solo career which quickly gained an international following. in 2006 returning to his home town of munich he teamed up with engineer jan krause to start recording once again. whether roland incorporates an accomplice or is working solo, thereÆs hardly a dull moment in the studio or on stage, captivating his audience by combining the integral influences of detroit techno, folk, disco all the way to soul and house. one of the most in demand tracks from the all night long album, snow gets a full single release as a result of the huge response from disco heavyweights horse meat disco, who took the time to contact us to tell us how much they love it. old school disco in every way, certainly not space and nothing nu about ita.. dfa darlings runaway turn it in a slow burning house direction that builds the tension until every last drop is wrung out in a sweaty pool on the dancefloor. nice.

christian prommer invites his friend peter kruder to reinterpret his jazzy rework of ames beautiful deephouse anthem rej. former member of fauna flash with his long time music mate roland appel, of trueby trio with roland appel and rainer trueby, as well as voom voom with roland appel and viennese legend peter kruder, christian prommer has an amazing discography on his musical cv with releases on legendary labels such as compost records, g stone and warp records amongst many others and more than 15 years of know how in music production. however he is making sensation this year with his brandnew project christian prommers drumlesson that he releases on jazzanovas sonar kollektiv.

compost black label #25 is some kind of premiere, because this is the first remix ep in the whole black label series. the protagonist in this one man play is the bavarian jack of all trades christian prommer in a new staging of wagon cookins start to play. in the past prommer has been co staring in classic performances like trÜby trio, fauna flash and voom:voom. right now he is stirring up waves of enthusiasm with his own drumlesson project on sonar collective and his floorshaking tech jazz meets classic house reinterpretation of koops drum rhythm a. but now draw the curtain and experience prommers play going through a real strong development giving each of the three acts a significant and distinctive character. from the slowly building ecstasy in the main mix and the uplifting joy in the piano scene to the sublime floating and jamming in the closing act he convinces in every role. great deep house theatre!

back in 1993 munichs into somethin crew started a clubnight entitled maiden voyage. the idea behind it was simple while the successful weekly into somethin sessions set up by michael reinboth, florian keller and theo thoennessen in 1989 kept on providing a take on the current state of dancemusic from a jazz djs point of view the guys wanted to etablish another night dedicated strictly to the classics. jazz, soul, brasil, boogie and disco have been on the musical menu at maiden voyage ever since. michael reinboth and florian keller still love to play a set at maiden voyage every now and then but both guys left the ships bridge to concentrate on their variety of other projects in the late 90s. theo and rainer were joined by roland appel of fauna flash, trüby trio and voom:voom fame instead to form the infamous threepiece that kept on keeping on ever since
