tomahawk’s fourth release finally lands with the debut ep of german talent jurchen. highly influenced by 80’s rough electro, house, jackin’ and techno sounds, this raucous 4-tracker launches us on a breakneck journey into interstellar space.

just in time for summer tomahawk returns welcoming newcomer babylon barsebäck. his debut ep “savannah sides” contain four tracks packed full of warm, tough and catchy jams, groovy rhythms and energetic synth works. skating through the light of atomic summer vibes and clustering breakbeats that underpin his distinctive vocals.

tomahawk’s second release lands introducing mysterious reptant, the evil techno lizard to the family. the four track ep is presented as a majestic night trip with all it’s different parts revealed.

tomahawk records is a new label that resists genres and hones in on the curation and sound of new artists. the label is keen to push undiscovered artists out into the periphery and give them the support to help grow as individuals.
the first release which is just round the corner is by the australian duo anthony fade, two hidden gems found on soundcloud. their process is a simple combination of hardware and software instruments and heavy use of ambient recordings and various samples. the ep titled “like that” contains four tracks of late summer vibes, dreamy vocals and a massive dose of energy getting ready for winter.

after releases on saints & sonnets and stay underground, it pays, berlin artist quell aligns with the mil label for the four track tomahawk which further cements his reputation for no-nonsense, stripped back house and techno music. size 7 sets the tone, a dark, underground roller with a trilling bassline and acidy bleeps that sits nicely alongside the shimmering chords and deep dubby vibes of monolame. on the b-side, harhead leads with fluid percussive rhythms and sequential kick drums to give an immediate grooveintrinsic melody. the energetic, grooveled tone continues into the last track, where are they now, a dark, technofused stripped back rhythm track with an acid tinged-feel.

“which doobie u b?” is the debut studio album by the latino rap group funkdoobiest. dj muggs was the executive producer for this album. tracks on the album are performed by son doobie and tomahawk funk, including additional cypress hill member b-real on the track “wopbabalubop”. hence the album is very much in line with the cypress hill productions.
