southern california producer jeffrey brodskys *i ll be strong* is the latest ep to appear on san francisco based label public release. its comprised of four tracks, with brodskys original joined by three wide ranging remixes, which complement its energetic feeling with deeper material aimed at late nights and early mornings.

italians do it better owner/traveling dj salesman/heavy record collector mike simonetti takes an edit to three very obscure 90s house tracks. we were able to recognize the a-side with some help. the track was altered significantly and intro extends and builds and builds and builds... the two tracks on the b-side sound like 90s japanese piano house and a happy house rave track flipped on 33 but to be honest, we have no idea what they are.

3 years ago, superpitcher made this mesmerizing remix of joakim s cover of neil young s on the beach. the buzz was instant, with djs from dixon to tim sweeney, dj tennis to mike simonetti asking us for the files of this extended deep techno cut. 3 years later we re finally releasing it as a joint crowdspacer / hippie dance release with an additional 20min long (!!) incredible ambient mix.

nice price deal !!! the idea for the sundowner sessions came about when mike found an old tascam cassette 4-track recorder at a garage sale in maplewood new jersey a few months ago. he went home and recorded some songs over a few extended sessions in his living room with headphones while his daughter napped upstairs. taking influence from early belgian trance and the diy noise and power electronics records simonetti released on his old label troubleman- the idea was to capture a moment in time and document it, and never revisit it again. projects like this is why new jersey exists as a label.respect to come org, united dairies, steinklang, american tapes, transmat, hospital prod, and tesco.

daniel helmer and ben manzone started making tracks as sycorax back in early 2011. since then they have self-released 2 in demand 12 inches. in the spring of 2012 they debuted their live all hardware set at the bunker in brooklyn. their second 12 inch titled orfamay quest was a top seller of 2012 at halcyon records. mike simonetti has known ben from sycorax for over 15 years, and is probably more proud of this release than any other to date. true underground sounds.

a yawning desert covers and oppresses a distant daemon-sphere pregnant with the stuff of a thousand earths. clouds of the same hue and attitude as the infinite sands gradually dominate the sky, possessed of a malign intelligence. a trans-generational caravan cuts an unforgiving line through the dunes in a fruitless mission to close its great mad circle, forever missing by just miles. it is a roving, innumerable harem in liege to an unsexed tyrant who sings them this song, reproduced here by resonant hole emissaries jeanne vomit-terror and ed sunspot, as the caravan commits the abominable act of transgressing the horizon into the infant sky-desert “above.” carl calm’s “gulf of night” mix is a monster, as is the great mike simonetti’s perverse interpretation!
