brand new album from ramzi , totally unique and compelling stuff

in the third of the ‘phobiza trilogy’ we are invited through the ethereal haze that separates our world from ramzi’s flourishing kindom. guided always by the deity’s music, we are given passage through the arcane archipelago that ramzi calls home, a place where animals, children and wild spirits share territories and cooperate in harmony in their plight to protect these ancient islands from the ceaseless threat of the great grey invasion. with the night closely following us, we are welcomed to these lands in dusk’s light, with the warm tones of ‘bibwel’ (featuring asaël robitaille on synth) carrying us across 11 different islets, all with unique climates, flora and fauna. after travelling for many a sunrise and sunset we take pause at mid day on ‘det calash’ isle (with some beats provided by regular fantasy). we ending our journey with a final sunset, this time on the foggy island of ‘warhasu’ (recorded on vancouver island with hashman deejay). amor fati (meaning “love of fate” or “love of one’s fate” in latin) comes as the inaugural release on phoebé’s own fati records and is the new nesting place for ramzi and its’ extended family. the record ends the ‘phobiza’ story, following ‘phobiza dia’ on total stasis and ‘phobiza noite’ on moodhut.

the ever enigmatic ramzi graces 12th isle with ‘pèze-piton’ - a 9 track visitation of the familiarly disjointed melodies and rhythms that make up our favourite sonic-nymph’s unique musical language. driven by the self-appointed task of encouraging interspecies harmony (to which we gladly lend a helping hand), each song stands as an anthem for this unified global biota, trudging considerations and skittish proclamations offering up something that shows once again just how exciting ramzi’s sound is.

priori ist ein pseudonym von francis latreille, der zunächst solo-veröffentlichungen auf dem griechischen label echovolt und dem kanadischen label asl singles club herausbrachte. latreille ist als begeisterter kollaborateur bekannt und ist an einer reihe von projekten beteiligt, darunter jump source, m.s.l., housemates, new world science, anf und andere. er hat auch an mixing-projekten von künstlerkollegen wie roza terenzi, ex-terrestrial, ramzi, bambii und ouri gearbeitet.

this will mark the first time all of these tracks will be available on vinyl. further, the album will feature unreleased tracks from cringe machine as well as a twins remix of love letters contribution nag. an interview of harsh riddims ryan parks by 2mrs mike simonetti (and vice versa) make up the liner notes and the labels will be throwing parties in nyc and atlanta to celebrate the release.

following releases by ramzi (etwal timoun) and aquarian foundation (planet of discipline), montréal/los angeles label total stasis announces the first lp by swiss producer anom vitruv, entitled anomie. subtitled five studies about death, anomieis an intricate tapestry of field recordings, incidental sounds, and blackened, looming ambience that fluctuates between detachment and foreboding. at one point a clattering house piece rises from the mix, punctuating the records sensual, vaguely funereal exhaustion. cover art comes from brazilian artist marcellvs l., whose minimalistic studies on stasis, time, and mirage complement anomies intro/outrospective sense of limbo. mastered by brandon hocura (invisible city editions) at polyphasic studios in toronto.
