the story behind this record begins in 2004 on newbury street in boston massachusetts. juice belushi founding member paul foley is dressed head to toe in 80s regalia, including vest, fingerless leather gloves, fedora and chain connecting nose-ring to ear pierce. its like a scene out of michael jacksons bad, minus the dancing. at his feet is a boom box blasting freestyle and 80s electro-funk, hes handing out mix cds. needless to say we were intrigued!

and as the sun set that evening, gator boots knew that the world would never hear the music unless he did something about it.

we pressed the 4 track hot pack of multi culti beats on a limited run of 500 jungle green records. in case you missed it, heres what the ep is all about: soul clap records welcomes one of the most unique artists in the game and he goes by the name bosq. a longtime boston homie, bosq (also known for his work with dj kon and the whiskey barons) first astounded us with his orquestra y madera album (ubiquity records) which put a modern dance floor twist on afro/latin funk and provided some of our biggest dj bombs that year. continuing to build the bridge we released his edit of fela kuti s opposite people (gator boots), collaborated on higher for our dotc vol.2 compilation (soul clap records) and we remixed his single bad for me from his sophomore celestial strut album (ubiquity records). this release is also accompanied by a sister record of remixes by auntie flo and caserta on limited yellow vinyl.
