overview roll the dice is the swedish duo consisting of malcolm pardon and peder mannerfelt. pardon is a storied composer of film and television music. mannerfelt s acclaimed third solo album ‘controlling body’ cemented him as in the top handful of creative forces working in experimental electronic music. this theatrical, surprising, world premiere performance cemented the two musicians as spearheads of a fractured type of future basement jazz. for this record they selected extracts in 2017.

“lost tracks vol. 2” contains 4 previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999. the duo fused 80’s european new wave/italo disco with 90’s detroit electro acts like le car and dopplereffekt. by utilizing verse-chorus structures, they playfully shook up the loop based hard techno and electro that was popular at the time. their studio set up at the time was a korg ms-20, roland sh-101, tr-606, tr-808, siel dk80, and boss dr-660 drum machine. the songs are direct, spontaneous, seemingly improvised in places. miss kittin sings about falling in love in the new millennium, snuff movies and controlling the unknown trip to death, all in her cheekily derisive french accent. all songs have been transferred from the original dat tapes by the band and remastered for vinyl by george horn at fantasy studios. the vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket featuring a black and white photo of the duo taken in 1996. each lp includes a postcard with liner notes from miss kittin and the hacker designed by eloise leigh. as miss kittin says of these demos, “we were naive, innocent, adventurous and we didn’t expect anything in return”

pulsewidthmod,creates tracks that are very epic and driving in nature all of which are recorded as live techno jams using elektrons dark trinity and an ms20 mini. her influences from techno to industrial, ebm, and belgium new beat leaves the listener with some menacing drums and a juxtaposition of both pleasing and disorienting melodies. serpentine servitude explores the idea that perhaps the serpent in the garden of eden was really being humanities servant. who was this creator character to dictate which fruit was ok for us to eat? who was he or they to say that if we ate the fruit we would be tainted and forever separate from divine love? all this did was create the idea in our consciousness that we were tainted. it is of my personal belief that the idea that we are sinful is the original sin. this god character who created beings in his own image and then dictated how they were to live their life kind of sounds like an over controlling father. where is mother in all this? the album started with the track original sin which was originally titled acid. seems somewhat appropriate since the concept of original sin seems to be a violation on humanities consciousness

for the 11th release 7777 presents the ghost miners remixes. for these remixes i offered each producer samples from different songs from the 2 ghost miners records. instead of doing straight forward remixes of a single song, i put forth the proposal for each artist to make their own version of a ghost miners song from scratch or using any samples they feel like. contributors include 3 of my favorite producers. 2 in demand artists, fit siegel and andreas gehm and one new comer, brian thrash. andreas gehm s version is a standard acid gehm gem. calling in the chords from the originals mixed with standard gehm acid brilliance. in fit siegel s version you ll find the perfect pure underground dance sound. featuring ray-7 on hand drums fit constructs a remix that combines elements of classic detroit and chicago sound while keeping the attitude and acid aesthetic of the original material. on the b side brian thrash, controlling his analogue arsenal, takes you on an epic acid journey traversing through the underground and space. thank you for your time. - jared wilson

long awaited and right in time for summer: sandrow m follows up his much loved -prayervan ep- from 2013. being one of uncanny valley s mainstays since the very start, the dresden based artist once again proves his versatility as well as his knack for synth based melodies with his new ep -kuiper belt rose-. sandrow m seems to love singing along with catchy tunes as much as dancing in the club. we hear it in every note, whether it s the dreamy title track, the elegant -dream controlling- or -next stop hessdalen- which is a veritable dance floor bomb thanks to the rising synths. finally, the aptly titled -miss you again- proves that sandrow m doesn t need a kick drum to move us

latest installment of the limited series from the home of ivan drago. this one sees another split with beau wanzer back at the helm controlling the a-side with more heavy handed beat tracks made for mixing, while the b-side is a very very very nasty warehouse techno beast by njb.

we welcome this fantastic producer on trapez with this piece of music which is quite different from most of what we get today. the title track >ghosts< feels like as if klaus nomi and kraftwerk were performing together... something we would have loved to have seen but which never happened. this track is not for the people who love it safe but for the adventurous and the wicked. voices like sirens striking with high pitched tongues being counteracted by basslines with a surface that can only be described as rough as chunks of splintered steel. a brilliant stop and go feeling shows that christian martin is the master on the steering wheel when it comes to controlling the movement.

stroboscopic artefacts third release sees label owner lucy and underground trailblazer ercolino, inspired by novelist michael endes imagery, create two visions of a nihilistic future. the 12inch begins with the tale of fear incarnate >gmork<, the most powerful weapon for controlling society. the a-side is a portrait of this terrifying beast: slinking baselines come from its black heartbeat and white noise grows from its unearthly appetites. fat, squelching noises emerge as light, hope and ideas are quashed, ground up and eaten. the sound is viscose, violent and deep seething red. what emerges is a genius slice of dark, brooding techno crafted from the nectar of your darkest nightmare. the story gets even bleaker with b-side >so the nothing grows stronger<, a narrative of blips, bleeps and squeals. this extreme dub techno track is a mutinous call to arms, the sound of the insurgence. here beats forge together, fortified by a devastating charge, till the track crunches away into nothingness

>charger< is a massive track! the track seems to suck up air to created a vacuum and also sounds a bit as if there was a problem with the ignition of the charger! once it gets going it is indeed a heavy rocking track!>firebird< is a fat sounding house track, which can be plaid by house djs as well as techno djs using a cool walking bassline and a super tight slapping snare and cool house vocals on top of it! starting housy the track develops into a hi energy, appegiator driven track showing alex unders talent for moving genres skilfully from one end to the other! this is a great track!
