brand new release on mondo groove with a remix double pack of selected tracks from daniele baldelli classic cosmic temple six chapters that were out on the italian label from 2015 to 2017. you can find everything for everyone in these new versions. dj tennis and in flagranti tributing pure cosmic sound with their interpretations of gandharva and afelio, dj ralf transforming kosmaro into a house stomper, tiger & woods adding their subtle boogie touch and edit science to vhanessa, clap!clap! going deep and percussive on isotropo funk, alkalino tripping italo-disco with „inner light, club paradiso in an afro-balearic clash on joka joka, eric duncan working a deep-techy groove on diffrazione, and dionigi, often production partner of baldelli, finishing in glory with a brilliant funky take on taxon. you cant sleep on this.

its just over a year since we started our new label, real balearic. for our second artist album we are really pleased (and honoured) to welcome one of the few djs who can claim to be one of the founders of the eclectic balearic sound. take a trip back to the 70s and 80s in northern italy and you will fine daniele baldelli mixing up electronic, african and slo-mo disco records to co-create the electronica meccanica sub genre. records often would be played at the wrong or variable speed to be made to fit into a wide aural tapestry of his unexpected-but-seamlessly-flowing dj sets. this of course is an aesthetic close to us here at real balearic. a sound we are ever so pleased to have as part of the mixing pot for our new balearic label. for the album he pairs up with fellow italian dj rocca to serve up an eclectic â€,“, electronic â€,“, balearic feast.

für ihr viertes release auf compost präsentieren siren (darshan jesrani und dennis kane) den track lulu, ein eindringlicher und treibender song mit emotional geladenen vocals von devi mamboka. der song wird begleitet von eleganten gitarrenriffs von danny chavis von the veldt (sein zwillingsbruder daniel sang bereits auf sirens erster maxi), basslines von sirens sound engineer mark dann und percussion von liquid liquid frontmann salvatore principato. die italienischen disco- und cosmic-pioniere daniele baldelli und marco dionigi steuern eine sagenhaft groovende und zugleich zeitlose re-interpretation von -lulu- bei. siren sind darshan jesrani (metro area, startree) und dennis kane (disques sinthomme, ghost town). siren’s erste recording sessions fingen im winter 2013 an, aber die anfänge ihrer zusammenarbeit reichen zurück zu ihren gemeinsamen residencies im berühmten new yorker hot-spot apt und anderen parties, die sie organisierten. events mit namen wie camille 3000, adult section und strobe lodge wurden liebevoll gestaltet, mit gewagt romantischen grafiken und einem prägnanten spezifischen statement, dass kultiviertheit und sünde stets zusammen gehören können und immer sollten.

chapter 6: in taxon he intertwined saxophone, free voices, funk, jazzy and electronics. kevlar is headed by a strident and wandering guitar on a carpet of percussion. 33vs45 is a piece composed to be played at 33rpm but also lends itself to be proposed in 45rpm in daniele baldelli’s style, accustomed to propose records played at the wrong speed for unforeseen effects.

chapter 5: space music atmosphere in kata sandi, a fusion of italo disco electronics and moroder influences with a vocoder to interpret the melody. dioxide: an electro funk with psychotic and tribal influences. after a grand opening esaedro starts to fly in space in tangerinine dream atmosphere.

if you’re setting out on an epic voyage to the electronic disco universe, it pays to recruit an experienced pilot. when it comes to intergalactic musical fusion, few are quite as experienced as cosmic disco pioneer and noted dancefloor explorer daniele baldelli. produced alongside friend and regular studio partner dario piana, zero gravity cannily updates baldelli’s early ‘80s cosmic disco blueprint for the 21st century. we think that the ep contains some of his strongest music to date, with each of the three cuts offering subtle nods to the italian maestro’s original cosmic club ethos. a-side “infinity machine” expertly combines many of baldelli’s greatest musical inspirations into one mind-bending late night workout. underpinned by a druggy, arpeggio style bassline, the track rises and falls through waves of funk-rock guitars, crunchy clavinet lines and intertwined synthesizer solos. throw in jammed-out electric pianos, and you have a near perfect fusion of cosmic disco and blazed funk-rock. the producer’s long-held love of african rhythms surfaces on “if you drive”, where bold acid bass, ricocheting percussion hits and weightless chords combine beautifully with starry melody lines and vintage analogue synthesizer motifs. it’s afro-cosmic for the nu-disco generation. a fine ep is completed by “air lock”, in which baldelli and piana pepper a rubbery, electrofunk-influenced groove with cascading synthesizer melodies, swirling pads and a swathe of fuzzy, eyes-closed guitar solos. it’s bold and assertive, but also as otherworldly and stratospheric as you’d expect from a pioneer at the peak of his powers.

rothmans are back with their first release of 2016 and who better to bring in the new year than italian electropsycho s dj rocca & daniele baldelli. of course this record would have to pay homage to an italian great and who better than 1982 world cup hero marco tardelli. first up on the ep is a synth funk journey called kratos. rocca goes full on here and doesent hold back as he takes us on a journey of synth wizardry and classic italo beats. up next is an another original from rocca called fonk 400 another track that could have been plucked starigt out of the golden age of italo disco, again rocca is pulling no punches here. the ep is rounded off in spectacular fashion, just like marco tardellis famous world cup final celebration we have nothing short of genius with daniele badlellis electropsychomix of kratos. baldellie doing what he does best and taking us too another level yet again.

opilec music is back with this special va signed by the cosmic acclaimed italian disco stars daniele baldelli & marco dionigi. both are regular remixers at the label and close friends to gianluca i-robots pandullo. having never been released before on vinyl these tracks show their unique style, and their ability to be reworked into a modern sound. 1980 s gogogo by the swiss electronic pioneers schaltkreis wassermann is taken from the classic psychotron album produced by pj & stella (r.i.p) wassermann, which has recently been re-released by private records germany.

a planned reissue for many years, the untimely passing of steve coe shortly after the label s rerelease of the ganges orchestra s the dream put everything on hold. however, time moves and so now seems a fitting time to revisit this -world dance- classic with fonder hearts. long cherished, it is a reminder of steve s enduring studio mastery. after the initial success of his work with sheila chandra in monsoon, steve expanded his musical scope, working on an indipop compilation as clubs looked to eastern flavours to add a new dimension for the dancefloor. teaming up with tabla disciple turned teacher, jhalib (millar), as well as long time collaborator martin smith, it s hard to imagine mysteries was first heard in 1982. hailed as an all time classic, it s enduring appeal can be seen in how it became a staple for the likes of danielle baldelli at the infamous cosmic club and beyond to become an original evissa -balearic- secret play for weatherall & co in those fateful summers of love and beyond. remastered especially for this release, the orchestral eastern melody and mid-tempo chugging rhythms and vocals marry in perfection with a dub bassline of wobble inspired depth. this alone would be enough, however, the original is at last backed with the 1988 remix. aimed at the then burgening new beat scene, a subtle straightening kick is added, but it s the unmistakable vocals of sheila chandra that finally brings this release together in melodic harmony. peace be with you steve. i am x
