leonard chin, born in jamaica, started producing music with legends like augustus pablo or horace andy before he moved to london in 1975 and started his santic label. what more can i say reflect this typical 80 s uk soul production, a perfect glimpse of early brit-funk works combining soul, jazzy rhythms, lovers rock, midtempo beats. the song is mainly instrumental and includes sweet background vocals. this timeless hard to find tune finally has it s first time official reissue. here comes official reissue on pépite

phil weeks teams up with soldiers of twilight vocalist ladybird on his new track natural high, a deep and soulful house track laden with warm chords and weeks trademark mpc beats. the single comes with three alternate versions – the unplugged version removes the beats and bass providing a tool on which ladybirds vocals shine, the baby dub takes things into heads down territory, and the higher mix reintroduced the vocal.

phil weeks and robsoul recordings kick off their 15th year in house music with a new three track ep from the main man himself. live at palladium has been the standout track of phils sets over the last few months, always generating a queue of people asking what it is. you may just recognize the marvin gaye sample, which was also previously borrowed by moodymann. it comes backed with the funk-infused *you want my love* and the soaring, chugging groove of *demain a jamais*, and looks set to get another year off to a flying start for one of the finest labels in underground house music.

there is some disco cockiness right here. the right amount of funky with a pinch of house and many other things that well discover as we peel back the layers with ease.
