local talk release number 66 moves in deeper territories with a duo that needs no further introduction, greg dowling, shane johnson aka fish go deep. these two fine gents have been releasing music for more than two decades. both greg & shane played an integral part in the emergence of house music in cork city between the years of 1988 and 2001 as their well renowned sweat night at sir henrys helped to attract a host of talent, such as kerri chandler, laurent garnier, dj deep, glenn underground, derrick may just to name a few. it s a big, big honour to have them on aboard for this debut on local talk. first track, off script, takes us straight back to the days of prescription. the driving kick and bassline, warm pads and a hypnotic melody line that crescendos throughout the track keeping you hooked from start to finish. on the flip, northern reach, follows on the same theme. it hits deep, the strings adds that extra bit of drama and again showing the duo s skill in creating perfect atmospheric and timeless deep house. you wouldn t be surprised to hear dixon drop this in a dj set.

after a series of mesmerising (and massive) eps under his more disco orientated yse saint laur ant moniker pressed for time label head ant plate is back in his deep house mode with an ep of yse goodness no messing about with the opener this loves the same yse goes straight in there with some dancefloor heat that has enough quirk to counteract the house swing. 9828 is all badboy garridge wonk with some excellent detuned chords and a catchy, nagging vocal refrain - swag. on the flip, i gave you my is proper deep house (as in it s actually deep) with some trademark yse chords, blissed out vocal samples and great drum programming. night prescription rounds things off with a homage to the classic us house sound. think chuggles i remember dance but with an east midlands twist.

h45 sees manchester s tomson (freerange) & eddie leader (hudd traxx) colloborate with chicago legend chez damier. this project has been in a long time in the making and came about when chez met eddie at his house & techno night content manchester. chez was at the start of his comeback and they were introduced by mutual friend joshua, a former prescription and hudd traxx artist. the meeting resulted in chez becoming good friendswith tomson & leader and laying down some vocals in the studio for the manchester pair. h45 is a new catalogue number for the hudd traxx family

back in february 2013, shortly after their impressive first release as a label, music is love launched a double va entitled lovebox: an 8 track double-vinyl release that included tracks from 8 talented up-and-coming producers on their roster. by innovatively previewing the producers in this way, the label laid the foundations for what listeners could expect for each artists subsequent eps. the artists who released on it were not hyped up flavours of the month, but rather emerging talents who sat perfectly with the labels musical ethos - quality and original underground house with a contemporary, dynamic feel. since the va, the label have gone from strength to strength and have firmly established themselves as one of the most brightest house labels around in the uk.

from the executive producer chez damier come a special edition release marking the 20th anniversary of balance and prescription records. side a. the mission: lavida (life) is a project and group from switzerland that was produce by chez damier and italian producer demetrio giannice, the track is deep with choped vocals of chez and chaka khan, very chord driven with a jazzy feel as the break of the track. a2. is a young group of french producers from paris called siler & dima , thomas zander with track called: inappropriate, a deep driven track with spoken words , more minimal and was inspired by some of ron and chez early works, this is for sure new school and very club friendly. side b is a remastered version of the rare prescription underground mix of ron trent and chez damier s classic --the choice-- this is one of the dance classics that helped shaped a new underground sound for the club, with ripping synth, raw snares and high strings, this 20 year old track hold up as well as a track made today.
