(holger behn) delivers an epic twist to the cut, widening out the spaces and adding his own techy signature to the original. re.you offer up another flavour altogether, maintaining the iconic synth pulse of the source but introducing an infectious, driving groove. dubspeeka throw a bit more grit in into proceedings with a tough, machine funk mix, while andre winter himself reworks his classic into a slow burning groover that effortlessly showcases the elements that make this track so timeless.

firstly, a huge thanks to everyone for supporting us so far - 2016 has seen the dext label continuing to go from strength to strength, with our callahan and mella dee ep s backed with remixes from hodge and endian which have been been super well received. now for the third ep of the year from our resident comedian bodyjack. bodyjack has been an integral part of dext since he remixed dubspeeka on our 2nd release and headlined our label takeover of privilege in ibiza last summer. we are very excited about his return to the label with this 3-tracker (and our first full solo artist ep!), and we think you re going to dig this... the title track cobra effect is one of those tracks you aren t going forget in a hurry. intense and brooding, we are hard-pushed to categorise this, but layers of sinister bass coupled with dark, driving snares and eerie synth work culminate masterfully, making this the perfect dext track. hydra effect lifts the vibe with a straight up peak-time house jam with a sting in the tail. a raw-but-infectious bassline winds along under bodyjack s signature killer drum programming, before blasting off with something you aren t going to expect. rounding the ep off is slowine effect: a proper dancehall workout (reminiscent of bodyjack s earlier work) and a real cross-genre party starter. the most upbeat of the 3 tracks, this again takes all the elements of what we love about the music from the past and cleverly works them into something special for the rave. and that s not all for bodyjack on dext this year - he will be back with a one-off ltd record called -hot shot-, backed with a very special remixer...but more on that soon!

he has been remixed by the likes of ricardo villalobos, joris voorn and more. rachmad is now hosting his own studio 80 based club night kis where he plays mesmerising extended sets. steve rachmad is welcomed to the vinyl-only offshoot drumcode limited. disturbance is a punchy little number that has a stuttering synth that rises over the top of the pounding kick drum. steps takes it up a notch with a simplistic bleep pattern that modulates throughout that is awash with a throbbing undercurrent.

dubspeeka, known from a streak of amazing originals and remixes on drumcode, lnoe and other labels, makes his off debut with a deep dub techno remix in his signature style, chopping up the vocal in a hypnotic way. musumeci, who established himself with a small but very characteristic number of tracks on connaisseur, bedrock and his own -engrave ltd- label, delivers 2 remix versions, both in his trademark minimalistic and timeless production style. finally, melokolektiv, one of off s new core acts, deliver an interpretation that is both functional and epic, based on a latin flavoured groove.
