luis junior’s track -ipsum- continues to play with a slight spa-nish flair reminiscent of his previous output with us. “2db2” offers some more floor-ruffness and technoid play.
as remixers we are really happy to have stereocalypse on board. some might know their amazing work for whomadewho. for the second remix label-head andre lodemann joins best works records artist fabian dikof for their second remix collab after the success of their compuphonic remix.
after more than 2 years of waiting berlin-based artist fabian dikof is back with a new release on best works records his ep the who his trade-mark sound remains: catchy arpeggio-sounds with tech-house synth usage. with these elements he creates a very mature tapestry that gives the tune great dynamic play in its rhythmic morphosis. the track camouflage features berlin-based vocalist ann weller from the band ann & bones. last but not least remixer dubspeeka reworks the original giving it a more minimal techno-flavour and with its tool-character it hits the dance-floor full on. the who ep is yet another great stepping stone for fabian dikof. there is more to come from this gifted producer.
which side are you on ? is the second ep of berlin based fabian dikof. as a youngster he learned his first basic skills in producing and deejaying from mr. andre lodemann himself in a youth program that lodemann was teaching in his previous job as a social-worker. now years later we are happy to have fabian dikof back on board with his second release on our berlin-based imprint best works records
bleary faces is the debut ep of berlin based fabian dikof. as a youngster he learned his first basic skills in producing and deejaying from mr. andre lodemann himself. all of the tracks featured here are on a slow-house tip without losing their ruff edge through a massive bass foundation. it is all about progresssion with a strong emotional build up. deep-house veteran vincenzo is on remix duties here. he re-creates the main track bleary faces with a new theme enhancing the original with some more disco-influenced touches.
bestworks records proudly presents the debut of two young aspiring producers from berlin: felix fisher and fabian dikof. several years ago both of them learned their first skills in a youth project which was developed and run by non other than label owner and producer andre lodemann in a small town erkner on the outskirts of berlin. germany. this release is a beautiful connection between andre lodemanns former job as a street/social-worker and his work today as a producer and dj on the international circuit. the track by felix fisher is a more detroit orientated tech-house track with a darker approach and fabian dikofs is more dubby-house influenced. christian prommer and phoniques remixes give the release a great twist in other musical directions.
best works records label-owner andré lodemann is back with a new long-awaited ep on his imprint. it is the 20th release on the label. for this “birth” ep andré personally enlisted non-other than swiss duo adriatique for their remix skills aswell as new-comer producer fabian dikof. andré’s track “birth” creates contrasts using african-drumming inspired styles paired with techy-beat pro-gramming. starting more on a minimal tip the track works its self up to high-tension climaxing with an emotional break keeping the deeper moments intact. adriatique created a faster more club-orientated ver-sion paring the more hooky parts of the original with beat-sythn elements giving the track a more tribal feel. the second remix featured here come’s via fabian dikof the second main artist on best works records. it s great to have him remix andré lodemann at last presenting his masterful skills. fabian took a different path in his remix working more on the melodic hook but also creating a warm bass-laden soundscape that loves the dance-floor in its own right.
sometimes accidental meetings and little misunderstandings bring to unexpected outcomes. one friendly chat over a glass of japanese whiskey with a new york based duo and one missed remix deadline for friends in berlin ended up being quite a nice remix bundle on a vilnius based label by a vilnius based chap for those who know. right on time for your special summer set.
