schuko ep is the second release from the lyon (france) based label aiia recordings, which without surprise is still speaking about techno. the release is signed by the german duo schutzkontakt, with one member from dualit, who uses violent and reverbering kicks on konter and latenz, completed by a deep and sweet melody on frage, whether by different layers of indus samples. the most relevant feeling by listening this four-track ep is that it brings you between hard and soft moments, but still in a mighty state of mind, thanks to the intensity put by schutzkontakt in schuko ep. even if everything slacken when zyllinder comes with its more groovy and acid rhythms after the two precedent techno-indus tracks.

the summer heat is still on our minds and we all do miss the sunny days, the beaches and the endless open air parties… thanks sascha dive for the right soundtrack and this summer flashback: dives new release for cocoon beams us back to the high days of the summer of 2015: especially into the woods seems to be the perfect sound for all these deeply missed summervibes. into the woods is a pristine tech-house production that comes with a cool straight forward beat programming, very nice reverse strings-sounds and hypnotic house chords. a nicely flavoured chicago club housefeeling and exactly how we like it! werewolf appears slightly more spaced out, however we are still deep in the house universe here. dive is pushing it a bit harder now - he uses crazy chord sounds and turns the track into an 11 minutetech house journey. after the summer flashback with into the woods this one beams us definitely more into the darker and hotter inner city clubs. a massive tech-house-striker by the diver and we are proud to say it is one of his strongest works so far!

ti-rex is an electronic music label founded in milan, italy. the city is becoming more and more a cross of influences, thanks to the expansion in the art and entertainment panorama. ti-rex gets its inspiration from the incredible underground music taste of ricardo villalobos, perlon and the romanian scene. the first release wants be a presentation of the project with the objective to propose quality music in this context it draws inspiration from the traditional brasilian manha de carnaval chant from the orfeu negro soundtrack of legendary gilberto gill, performed by elizeth cardoso in 1959. a second release will follow soon. enjoy.

official re-issue of larry heards the housefactors project!another one of his classics!raw and relentless tracks that went so far from any electronic dance music from that period that to date this is still recognized as larry heards signature sound. with his mr fingers and fingers inc. projects going towards club use, this and his gherkin jerks showed another side of him maybe a darker side,but for sure a more raw and different side with music that sounds as if it came from another planet.jacking tracks that to date only larry heard have made like this. many producers have been inspired or tried imitate his sound with all good intentions, but still, gherkin jerks and the housefactors are some of the most unique projects in house music history. play it loud originally came out in 1988 (!) on black market records. and how cool is it to see an official re-issue on the original label by the original guys who did this almost 25 years ago!eternal respect to larry heard and a big thanks to black market records for making this important record available again.

finale sessions founder michael zucker steps into the limelight with his first full ep for the label in the five years it has been running. zucker has of course featured on a handful of split releases from finale but he doesn t waste any of the space afforded here with a quartet of superb and varied productions. leading the way, techno track his spirit bristles with life and percussive energy whilst inner city peace will likely raise some interested eyebrows in west london thanks to its killer broken beat programming. face down, zucker dips into his personal archives for an unreleased and rather crisp remix of introspective and jenifa mayanja hookup when the rain comes down whilst the wonderfully named spiritual graffiti ends the release on a high note

urban ethiopian music stands out within the african continent thanks to its creativity and originality. whatever the shade - pop, blues, jazz or soul - it comes from a fusion of local musical traditions mixed with an echo of western music. it bewitched ethiopia during the swinging addis decade before recently winning the favours of a well-informed audience all over the world. this first vinyl volume of *ethiopian urban modern music* presents a selection of the more funkier ethiopian tracks, drawn from the essential ethiopiques cd series directed by francis falceto and published by buda music.

introducing a brand new label from berlin-based greek, john dimas. elephant moon is a platform conceived by john to simply collect and release music from his talented group of friends. having built up a strong reputation thanks to his excellent back catalogue of productions on labels such as one records and la vie en rose, he decided that now is the time to dedicate his deep knowledge of house and techno to running a label of his own.

sensual welcomes on board markus sommer & phil evans for their debut on a limited 10 inch record. - strange advise- uses a stout breakbeat pattern and a cosmic melody with a deep flavour thanks largely to the bassline while the b side continues with a melodic content.

the original he serves up here is my groove, a firmly rooted and solid bit of house music with classically inclined vocal chants by gjeazon from crazy like a fox records, that recall eddie amador s biggest cut. subtle details embellish the groove and make it all the more standout, and those deep looping basslines really pull you into the middle of the track, which also has airy hi hats and a sleazy sense of funk. the first remix comes from afterparty founder, rinse fm radio host, former usher tour dj, southern fried affiliate and pioneer collaborator doorly, who also runs his own pigeon hole label. his remix smooths out the kinks and simmers a grainy groove for seven shuffling, seductive minutes. rolling effects and a big breakdown are sure to make for some fist pumping moments in the club. last to remix is play it down producer and foremost danish dj christian nielsen. he does so with an increased sense of urgency and his track hits that bit harder as a result, all thanks to a dirty down low bassline that just rolls and rolls.

connecticut s jon beall, recording as entro senestre, has gained critical acclaim thanks to brilliant releases on labels like w.t. records, echovolt and l.i.e.s.. on his debut for dekmantel, beall has taken his signature vintage flavors of techno and electro and pushed them into news spheres of the frightening, combining chalky, continuous drum tracks with an ear for emotionally challenging melodies. championing timeless electro-techno that breathes real soul, this four tracker does senestre proud and alters a dynamic ep that is ear-piercing and contemplative, nifty and evocative.

ednic is the italian duo of nicola di gabbia and edoardo cortopassi, and by all intents and purposes, they’re an outfit that’s on to a good thing right now. the guys make quality, analog-enriched house and techno, the likes of which comes to the fore here on puas puas, a vinyl only label that’s already featured the likes of the mole, alex piccini and carola pisaturo amongst others. first up on the exceptionally refined strands of the auberste ep sis the sounds of the original, which is a barnstorming cacophony of acid flourishes and tension-filled motifs. a track that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat for some time, it features shades of old-school electro and techno, and is the sort of track that’ll definitely rescue any ailing dancefloor. the aforementioned carola pisaturo then perks up with the first of her two remixes courtesy of her brilliant ‘church’ mix. a bumping and grinding interpretation on the original, it too keeps the suspense high, most notably thanks to a dizzying array of melodies and a series of potent basslines. her ‘botta’ remix is a more stripped back affair, albeit one that still speaks to fans of discerning fare thanks to its relentless attitude. full of shiny percussion and the odd sultry vocal smidgen, it’s further indication of a producer who looks set to enjoy an excellent 2015. this is classy stuff indeed from the puas puas label.
