WHAT EVER PT. 2
12 Inch
19.09.06
heavily supported by m.an.d.y., dj t, david duriez, konrad black, tom clark, sasse!! update 2.0 of woodys already successfull >whatever< series. minimal not minimal is the name of the game here! open produced and very fresh and full sounding the two to long and intensely reduced tracks are immediately touching, thrilling and are much thicker cut than your ordinary berlin click track. you could almost call it >maximal< , hehe .again side a is a kicking stylish electronic build up theme – reduction with just the right punch(the one that is missing so often these days, hehe)and great compressed bliss that simply rocks unstoppable once you get hooked into this unique below the line killer groove. 8 minutes that just fly by like a >hot rod< and youre immediately tempted to stay >tuned< , hand the keys over to wood and let him do the driving for the next 10 hours or so! >dakini< is more dark and mystical in appeal with a sturdy bassline and wicked nervous infrastructure making the whole gem as another two double a side 12inch. next stop woody
JAM 2 THA MOTHER
12 Inch
18.09.06
this 12 kicks off with jam 2 tha mother,a track that has been doing the rounds for a while as a westpark unit track apparently. its a fairly nice hiphouse bumper.its all about miles though. the looped piano sample works wonderfully well with the straight deep disco beats. and while the original is good, the soulphiction remix is the icing on the cake. they give it a certain industrial/techy edge, and make the sample stand out even better. add to that some dope detroit beatdown bass licks and beats, and you ve got yourself a catchy tune

13.09.06
paris producers guillaume atlan (the supermen lovers) and gregory louis (aloud) have recently joined forces to form new act moto signed exclusively to cyclo records. taking their influences from 70s californian funk - rock bands and icons like stretch, chicago, prince, ac/dc, they develop a style of their own, adding a touch of electro to their live instruments (guitar, bass, vocals) to deliver sexy, uplifting tracks. >heartbreaker< their first single contains that genuine positive rock n roll attitude that will make you jump off your seat while driving a convertible car on a desert highway. >who cares< on the b-side in a more spaced out way but with that added 70s funk treatment will take you to the next lost motel where you may not find anyone but a dog to talk to. motos debut ep, have been selected as part of the soundtrack of eric lavaine new screenplay >poltergay< (out october 26th in france), a comic production where gay ghosts make the life of an ordinary, newly established couple quite difficult...
SIROCCO / SLOW BURNING
12 Inch
12.09.06
well this little gem has been floating about since late last summer and thankfully will be getting a proper 12 release very soon. balearic disco heaven much along the lines of reverso 68, it comes across like indeep and chris rea in the blender together with it’s driving guitar licks, the unhurried walkin bassline and the soft kalimba touches. bound for big things this late summer and hopefully golden autumn too. theres the added bonus of a mudd remix of the b side track slow burning. i promise you folks its been worth the wait
ALWAYS SOMETHING BETTER / HERBERT RMX

12.09.06
anders trentemøller, the shooting star of 2005, needs no further introduction. he has been stringing together hit after hit, most recently the -nam nam ep- on poker flat which offered an initial insight into his upcoming album -the last resort-. now the new 12- brings the first full-blown single outtake. the featured album track is -always something better – a vocal version featuring richard davis - and has a calmer, almost dreamy mood compared to the club tracks he s released. an easy-going groove, some wonderful celesta chords (hand-played by anders) and the typical trentemøller sound melt with the outstanding vocals by richard davis, who already graced swayzak s -speak easy- on k7. furthermore, davis is known for his longplayers on punkt musik and kitty-yo as well as an array of singles and remixes.a brilliant track with a beautiful atmosphere.of course the a1 slot is reserved for the -trentemøller remix-, a true dancefloor anthem. a kicking bass drum, quirky sounds and the -trentemøller twist- make this a real summer hit. while the a1 mix is a reduced vocal version, you ll find the -dub mix- on b1. to top things off, the one and only matthew herbert contributes his very own interpretation on the -bubble mix-. he disrupts and rearranges the original sounds and song structures to create a new unsettled, but fascinating soundscape

LOUD MINORITY
12 Inch
06.09.06
the track loud minority is dedicated to alex dallas loud minority residency in zurichs great club dachkantine, which closed down and was a home for great guests such as carl craig, pepe bradock, juan atkins, metro area, herbert and maurice fulton to name just a few. they all inspired us to create music which incorporates all our beloved music and combine different style elements to a fresh and maybe even a typical zurich sounding way. with dessert you can fade away and feel the ability of foster to take you into his simple but at the same time very sophisticated form of musical expression. kanona does what the title suggests. all tracks are flavoured with a great detroit feeling there are many things to say about this record but theres nothing better than listening to it.
DPC001-1
Drumpoet Community
with this release on drumpoet he presents kadena,a track which already acclaimed much attention by the likes of âme and dixon and creates a fresh symbiosis between disco and detroit. an emotional and bootyshaking tune which can take you higher and make you want to move it. on secret playground he goes into the more dubby side of this ep and provides a deep minimal excursion with a warm and almost cinematic feel. lexx is a musiclover so his spectrum is huge, but all we can say is, that this man knows what he does and there are many things to say about this record but theres nothing better than listening to it

FATHER FATHER
12 Inch
06.09.06
the father father remix takes you on a hypnotizing trip inside your bleeding soul. worgull isolates two single lines of oezlem cetins soulful sermon and creates a deep and dark dub version with many references to detroit and old school chicago. a future classic which shares the same vibes as henrik schwarz rework of walk a mile in my shoes. on the flipside is a nice reinterpretation of are we? by tony nwachukwu (attica blues), another friend of the karma boys, which features michelle amadors sweet vocals over a minimalistic detroit flavoured techno jazz excursion keeping the odd waltz time signature of the original and flipping the tune into an atmospheric future shuffle

archipels brand new sublabel brings you its second weirded out slab of wax with uli kunkels singing with rod. uli kunkel, however,is not one single artist. it is comprised of lee curtiss, maayan nidam (miss fitz) and shaun reeves.the record starts off with leethophobia which is an hypnotic breaks like piece of dark insanity laced drughouse very much inspired by the perlonian sounds which have been coming from germany as of late.drugpigs is fat, wobbly, and just as hypnotising as leethophobia and commands that the freaks come out to dance from the shadows of strange early morning corridoors.the flip takes a more direct approach and is fiercely lead by arrival which is an hypnotic take on dancefloor drive influenced tracks and is laced with clever edits and lysergic percussion.sing like rod is a totally weirded out and just as lysergic early morning rhythmic smoothy. kalimari is set to release quality weirdness and here it stands tall from the rest.

THROUGH THE DOOR / THE NEXT
12 Inch
23.08.06
>through the door< is a classic chacona production - atmospheric space funk, combining more synths than a jean michel jarre stage show, solid disco beats and eyes firmly on the dancefloor. imagine lindstrom on disco biscuits and you get the idea. >the next< wears its italo influences on its sleeve, and will appeal to fans of francisco, morgan geist and chicken lips. the disco synths return (he loves his synths!) and ride over shuffling percussion, a rubbery bass and build into an epic piece of 21st. century disco
LIRIUM / AGARIC REMIX
12 Inch
22.08.06
berlin team of dave shokh and holgi star are back with a cool house long player for the masses. remix courtest of the ultra hot agaric (we are, aka patrik skoog) begin with gathered clicking percussion built with high pitched stabs and reversed flicks. lirum builds ontop of itself as the snare punctuates the groove as the bell rises. a galloping invasion of sounds going from your brain wide into your feet. you will dance and feel good. yes. agaric does not hold back. the funk is dripping. a rolling tight groove filled to the top with hits and drum flips. just wait as he teases before the bassline appears and off we go. madness for the dancefloor?!? for certain!

wagon cookin joined xan blacq in salvador de bahia where they recorded this sultry piece of nusoul called the week the weekend.later xan blacq did it again at his london studio in an uptempo style, rerecording everything. result is a great piece of contemporary soul made with the heart to move the feet. original has the distinctive wagster jazz touch, but this time with and slightly electronic feel. flip the side and you will find a broken beat remix of the original brink on dreams included in their amazing last album. electronic but yet jazzy broken production that will rock the place!
GET ON UP REMIXES
12 Inch
11.08.06
>get on up< was dj rush s biggest stike so far. with remixes of the best techno producers like eric sneo, thomas p. heckmann, chris liebing and rob acid, t:classixx pushed the track in the clubbers heart. back in the days sven wittekind and robert natus take the tune to other level. on the a side you will find the sven wittekind remix. whose interpretation is a hard, rugged one that seems to be coming alive the longer it lasts. vocal stabs, an enormous dose of hi-hat action and noisy twisters make this one very useful being played at the bigger venues. robert natus is responsible for the second mix of the track on the flipside. the german-based producer delivers a remix in his so characteristic style, as can also be heard on his releases through labels such as systemcalls, planet natus, abstract or bitshift music..
