here is the new 13th episode of soul access from hungarian artist peppelino plus three remixes by us artist bryant baker, japanese tearztune and slovenian reaky. with his fusing elements of funky techno and electro, peppelino has seen excellent reviews and response, with many tracks charting high in download sales, appearing on dj charts worldwide, played on radio stations and web casts. he has worked to spread his sound to other parts of the world, and with an increasing amount of tracks and remixes being signed, and a very busy 2007 ahead.

this is soul jazz records new journey into the heart of new orleans and a guide to the citys finest funk music produced in the late 1960s and early 1970s. featuring everyone from the meters to eddie bo, lee dorsey to betty harris, this is a whos who of the crescent citys most famous and most funky! the city of new orleans has deep musical roots that stretch back to africa. new orleans first gave birth to jazz music, a black musical form centred on rhythm, improvisation, freedom and collectivity at the turn of the century. similarly in the late 1960s new orleans funk came to define a unique sound, mixing caribbean rhythms, new orleans second line syncopation and rhythm and blues, all played by the big easys finest musicians.

hinode’ is a tribute and farewell to our favourite club, yellow in tokyo. we’ve played some great gigs there, six or seven hours in the dark with eight hundred people and one strobe light – perfection. endless saki in the bar, obligatory stalkers (“93!” and hedgehog girl step forward please), smoke and heat on the dance floor. finally emerging deafened and sun blinded into the brilliance of saturday mid-morning in tokyo… backing up the original is an exceptional remix from our favourite techno genius - fergie.
