monomachine behind the name monomachine lie two well known musicians of the spanish and chilean electronic scene respectively: iñigo oruezábal and francisco allendes. this adventure in minimal code, sometimes more techno and others more house oriented, gathers all the background and joint professional experience of both artists, as a result of years of individual experience in the best dj booths and studios in spain and south america. its a sound that relates directly with the vanguard sounds in the current electronic dance music has its main target in the dance floor, not leaving aside a high quality production which results in an intense and clear sound. here are their latest tracks, released on catwash records.bomb jack on the a side is a tweaky, techy, track with jungle drum and percussion, and a soothing constant bass line that makes this track a great connector in any set. ghost and goblins on the b side starts out with some rhythmic minimal bongo drum sounds before a deep echoey bassline enters and kicks the track into its real journey. the contrasting synth sounds add flavour that turns this into a good boppy track that will get the peeps grooving on the dancefloor!

i get lifted is a version of the track harry wayne casey (k.c.) and richard finch (later known in life as kc and the sunshine band) produced for george mccrae. los angeles vocalist fanny franklin shines on vocals riding an irresistible cosmic flavored tune that settles nicely somewhere between live disco and spacey soul. franklin has appeared on recordings by dakah and sang alongside macy gray. she is the de facto orgone vocalist to appear on tours and as the main vocalist on the upcoming album. on the flip is an instrumental inspired as much by roy ayers as fela kuti. its what you do will appeal to fans of the bands previous recordings like hambone and funky nassau

CHRYSANTHEMIUM EP

chrysanthemum ep is the first new recording from kelley polar since his hugely successful debut album released in 2005, love songs of the hanging gardens. the seeds of chrysanthemum are described by mr. polar himself as a confluence of the apocalyptic fear that permeated all cold war childhoods, comic book illustrations of blood and violence abstracted into flora and a b grade science fiction novels portraying two teens in the final throes of lovemaking as the world is destroyed in nuclear apocalypse. yet despite this decidedly dark and unique approach, the song is nevertheless pure pop catchy and indelible once heard. rosenband is lighter in subject matter yet just as deep musically, filled with synthetic layers and rhythms that reveal themselves slowly on subsequent listens. despite the immediacy of the melodies, there is a detail that permeates all of kelley polars work and rewards the attentive listener. a completely reworked instrumental version of rosenband is stretched across the b side and is dare we say it a dancefloor killer, with a long, mix friendly intro building to an incredible crescendo. the track is arranged and mixed by morgan geist and was done so with djs in mind!

first single taken from the massive album >a cheerful temper< big with john digweed on radio 1 !! played by john acquaviva, marc romboy, sander kleinenberg, dj fex & martin eyerer >a cheerful temper<, the name of robert babiczs debut album for systematic recordings is arguably the best way to describe the cologne based pole. answering the question why he is choosing this specific name, babicz explains that he feels caught between two worlds: >the real world of everyday life and a surreal dream world comparable to the backdrop of a fairy tale.< vinyl comes in three parts, this is the 1st one
we come accross suffocating moments, sick jazz in a minimalistic key, sparks of extreme, evolutive, interlaced intensity that eventually create futurisms and bring them close to the listener. intensity, restlessness, hypnosis and vibration could define this first tupperwear release in klitekture. this ep extracted from their album >beton insel< is, most of all, a true surprise box, as you will not be able to predict by which roads will the following twist in this permanently progressing and changing evolution, theres where a very significant part of its assets and its own goal reside. complexly and simply brutal. this ep edition released on vinyl contains a remix crated by lod from gas usa, a debilitating declaration of intentions by tupperwear that under lods concept aquires a smother tone than the original going from the tupperwear demolish actitude to a more repetitive structures

alton miller is a bona fide detroit house music legend, with over 35 12 inch singles to his name, and 3 full length albums. he has released music on virtually every classic house label from planet e, guidance, kdj, peacefrog to distance, mahogany and nite grooves. possibilities featuring lady linn is the first 12 inch release from his forthcoming album on r2 souls like mine and it has all the makings of a broken soul classic. the first remix is by osunlades new yoruba records signing zoetic. on possibilities he has provided that classic yoruba soul feel, elevating this to a dancefloor essential. the second remix is a deep ancestral dub from armani kombot naguemon a.k.a. boddhi satva. he has created an ancient yet modern tribal tech burner, perfect for those late night moments when only the true spirits occupy the dancefloor
l delay is all about the drama—but at the same time, its skipping hi-hats and ringing bells suggest a carefree spirit and a supreme lightness of touch. talk about a duality: a cloak of reverb sucks the track perennially towards the dark side, but from the gleeful syncopations to the cheekily sampled live instruments, everything else opens up to the light like a morning yoga position. there s no funny business here, just tight rhythms and emphatic phrases that command bodies to move. its a monster of a track, but it must be of the loch ness variety, because youll never see it coming. on the flip, >frost< —haunted by the same high, lonesome string note as >l delay<— might be even more energetic, if that s possible. the high end has been smoothed down, and some of the roughhewn chicago edge of its companion tune sanded smooth, but its crazily syncopated standup bass line and distant, answering keyboards is all muscle, tensed and ready to explode. spacious drum tracks clear the floor for flashes of tambourine and handclaps so dry you can taste the salt on em. again, no nonsense is the name of the game: just raw, unadulterated funk with an ear for playful rhythms and limber moves
dj support: karotte, josh wink, john selway, jeff samuel, chloe, laurent garnier, sebastien leger, sian (pokerflat), simon baker (infant).... just as klaus kinski once saw the jungle, minilogue see their sound as a multifaceted and highly fecund place whose nevertheless existing and complex matrix does not show itself in any apparent order. two new tracks on wir make their way through tight, slippy and steeply ascending paths, working to see the daylight in the befogged territory of the peruvian rain forest, or they ride on rapid amazonian rivers looking for el dorado, while unknown dangers lurk behind. bushwacking beats slap through the thicket, wandering on the trails of ancient cultures, not fearing any frazzle. minilogues trademark sound already overgrows the dance-floor, wriggles over sweaty walls, into the corners and beneath the turntables, and theres quite a chance to lose oneself in that labyrinth when not paying attention to where the exit once was

oriol benedet confirms with the clown the good expectations he raised with genetica, his debut with this label. benedet, a studio virtuoso and professional technician, exploits in his second maxi the infinite possibilities of todays virtual samplers. the clown is a piece of work that does not rely on pre established sounds. it is a lesson about the creative potential of the machines.
cobblestone jazz produce their tracks live, with a strong emphasis on improvisation, and the trio of programmer tyger dhula, keyboardists danuel tate and mathew jonson, make full use of their formative jazz training to transform the musical outfit into a pragmatic and responsive unit, a living and breathing creation, free of formulaic sequence. dmt is a particularly good example of this, progressing with a confidence and purposefulness that borders on sensual mastery. samples and trace sounds are revealed into the mix, weaving a hypnotic and infectious reverie that calculatingly refrains from climax. a display of power that is anything but vulgar, cobblestone arent showing us all their cards just yet. magic

i dont have much to say about the dahlbacks. jesper is one of my best friends, even though he is a serious pain in the ass. john made 6 records in the time it took you to read this sentence....and he just turned 11. every once in a while they take about 40minutes out of their hectic schedule (john stops making records...to make a record, while jesper take s a break from the grueling demands of being a condo association manager) to make a record for turbo. in all honesty i think they give me the tracks they forgot about..... cuz you know if they really loved them they would keep them for their own lame labels. so, instead i leave you with the music. 3 tracks that prove again that somehow, against all odds, when you put cousins in a studio they bring out the best in each other. jespers maverick genius and time-honed wisdom tempers johns youthful passion and naive exuberance.. while johns youngbrain redefines the game and reenergizes the old master. the two cousins locked in a dance that continually blurs the lines between student and teacher, a sonic sibling rivalry a musical match with one clear winner ....you!!

dont worry, christophe dalla-ca aka kiko is not interested in a seventies disco revival, even if the tongue in cheek reference to john travolta in the title track of this ep might imply that. on the other hand, the work released by the man from grenoble for such renowned labels as ozone, hot banana, goodlife and turbo has consistently shown that kikos interpretation of techno from the 2000s also includes a conscious reworking of past dance floor orientated electronic music. in this sense, kiko has succeeded in making three stand alone, coherent interpretations of a mutual meltdown of new wave, disco and elektro, with the tracks on the >tragolta ep<. whether he is impressing with the best possible mix of ebm and dave clarkes red series (30.1) or enchanting us with the continuously jewel like, dazzling melancholic melodies of >electric burst< or >tragolta<– the fact remains true that he perfectly supplements this approach to the sound cosmos of datapunk
