** repress 2016 ** two of the black madonnas most sought after early tracks return to circulation alongside one burning new jam on goodbye to all this, the latest release from stripped & chewed. drawn from the chicago labels 2012 compilation livin for the city ep, the piano dappled joy of *exodus* luxuriates across side a, spreading the good word with a pounding beat. *we dont need no music (thank you, rahaan)* from scrs004 takes another whirl around the dancefloor, its pinwheeling horns and infectious vocals pulling even wallflowers into the fray. and in case two remastered sure-shots arent enough, the brand new *who do you need* closes the record with a soulful thwack: half uplifting house, half blistering techno – all peak-time fodder. a fine addition to the black madonnas discography alongside records for argot, the nite owl diner, hometaping is killing music, and of course stripped & chewed.

the black madonna returns to home taping with another classic release in the making! we still believe captures that early sound of chicago when you could still hear the euro and italo influences as they were re-interpreted through the beat boxes & synthesisers of the windy city, and made to jack. on the flip, home taping favourite the revenge delivers his own take on that classic sound with an understated and yet pumping rework. packed full of authentic beatbox sounds and warehouse style keys, it works it to the boom boom. last but not least, the black madonna finishes off the package with say my name - a dirty, menacing and incessant groove that makes out like a wild new street dance that just got turned loose. the black madonna is here to stay!

the black madonna hits home taping hard with her first release on the label >alright this morning<. coming from the middle of nowhere, but now based in the attic of a house in chicago that used to be the home of over 50 dance labels, she likes her music to do the talking and admires the anonymity and musical militancy of acts like underground resistance. having being brought up working in the music industry as an apprentice doing this, that and everything and helping to run labels, she actually refused to let anyone hear her work for years with masters gathering dust and never seeing the light of day. until now when, after the encouragement of a producer friend to get her stuff out there and a chance find by home taping of a few tracks online one day, she has now found a place where she feels at home. the first of a string of releases on home taping sees the jubilant and heavily chicago-influenced >alright this morning< released along with a remix by one of her favourite new producers, nicholas from italy. the rest is history and up to you ...
