wie es scheint sind alle begeistert von santa cruz track mais uma chance, einem der herausragenden songs auf der letzten too slow to disco brasil edition. der berliner jack tennis hat für uns seine magischen hände an den track gelegt und eine dj-freundliche yacht-disco version abgeliefert, die santa cruz selbst so begeistert hat, dass er uns persönlich darum bat diesen remix zu veröffentlichen. jack tennis ist ein berliner produzent, der kopf vielerlei projekte ist. er veröffentlicht seine eigene musik unter dem namen hotlane (gomma records) und liefert stetig disco-edits für das einflussreiche uk disco label midnight riot (von yam who!). um die veröffentlichung abzurunden, konnten wir die italienische rework/edit legende les inferno überzeugen uns seinen unveröffentlichten track brazilewis einen chill-out slo mo groover zur verfügung zu stellen. die nummer findet sich schon seit einiger zeit in jedem dj supermarkt set! les inferno veröffentlicht auf samosa records, eines der hippsten neuen edit/rework labels, das eigentlich strictly vinyl ist. seine tracks wurden z.b. schon von niemand geringerem als moodyman in seinen sets eingesetzt. eine streng limitierte 10inch mit den beiden tracks wird es erst ende august geben.

wdsb06 kicks off with a classic in every sense of the word, the legendary producer, doc l. junior of tromso reworks a disco classic in a 909 style, followed by g.o.d. (grumpy old djs) from colombia reworking a latin 80s jam, then newcomer just baker bringing the disco house heat for a full slab of the b side.

you got the stuff is not lovely day - that much is true. this ones a wigged out, extended, trip into deep space from 1978 that is truly baffling. of course, it features bill singing for the first half of the track but then all of a sudden we re launched into a cosmic wormhole as everything just falls back and the track is stripped of any earthly qualities. people find themselves asking this, this is bill withers? as lazer guided synths and rock solid drums pull us into the sonic vortex. truly amazing. obviously a nugget like this has not gone unnoticed and has been edited and chopped and sampled deftly by the more sarcastic, left-field oriented crate diggers out there but it has never been reissued legitimately - until now! a hugely sought after and collectible gem right here, backed with the wistful slow jam look to each other for love as per the original 1978 columbia promo 12inch version. this left-field, cosmic classic has been legally reissued by above board distribution in conjunction with the legal rights holders sony music entertainment. this high quality repress features original columbia pink label disco 12inch artwork and has been remastered from sonys original sources by optimum mastering, bristol uk.

das album erschien ursprünglich bereits am 27. september 2005, und zwar beim label decaydance records von fallout-boy-gründer pete wentz. dieser hatte zuvor demos der band gehört und nahm sie unter vertrag, noch bevor sie jemals live performt hatte.
aufgenommen wurden die 13 songs von »a fever you can’t sweat out« in den somd! studios in college park, maryland. für die produktion zeichnete matt squire (good charlotte, the used, taking back sunday) verantwortlich.
das album wurde ein kommerzieller erfolg. die zweite singleauskopplung »i write sins not tragedies« schaffte es in den usa bis in die top 10 der charts.
