concealed sounds is a brand new label from the copenhagen based producer and dj martinez. the label is set up as a platform for the more deeper shade and experimental sound of techno and house music. it will feature releases by martinez himself, but also showcase some new talents as well as well known colleagues from the scene. and as the label name suggests each release will include a hidden sound, beat, groove or ambient piece. the first release comes courtesy of martinez, and its called: hollow ep. it starts off with a 14 minute piece of modern modular based techno. deep hypnotic rhythms lay down the foundation while high pitched noisy metallic sounds build over the hollow groove, before the baseline kicks in to lift everything to another level. the piece finally breaks down completely, to an almost horror-film-soundtrack like ambience before the groovy rhythms find their way back to bring the track to life again

africa friends is a tribal-inspired tech-house track with a lot of driving elements. the remix of yapacc however is rather a remixer typical interpretation somewhere between funky minimal and melodic techno. another centerpiece of this ep is the remix of quenum, who founded the imprint cadenza along with luciano a few years ago. as a small gimmick nicolas duvoisin serves an additional groovy track called people dance.

over the last few years douglas greed live with his band has twisted heads at festivals over a few beers.underway with a percussionist and singer he is constantly on the highways ravaging the gas stations of europe – especially for the last few months. what has developed on the stage as a stout twister session for adults is now presented as a music release.the title piece masked up and messed up puts up a fat middle finger to everyone who lets their vanity slip out at the masked ball. the track is a bass-bellied house rocker along with vocals that wink an eye with a snot-nosed chorus added.with 5000 ansi lumen the lights roll on and off with a flick. there isn t anything the neighbors can do by knocking on the door when the cross-trainers are carrying the load of the baseline! the rainfall in the very first beat provides space for a a dried-out drum. in this dusty atmosphere, it builds up ever and ever more and takes flight to the foremost place. a groovy stop and go – dissolved into a supplication for rain and salvation.

m1 sessions #4 features the men behind the scenes of m1 sessions. bobby dolo, (label founder) and todd modes have been working together for years as djs, producers, and loft party hosts. todd brings his own brand of sexy, deep house with a warm, late night vibe. dolos side offers a samba-ish chop up of dr. buzzards sunshowers, and a disco edit of tropically groovy proportions.

from the tropics comes whiskey disco, a sneaky re-edit label bent on dredging the decanter for diffident dancefloor genius from latent disco perpetrators. its loosely connected to sleazy mcqueen and his assorted cohorts. whiskey disco #18, cut me gently by beard in dust comes from behind the iron curtain. on a recent tour of russia, sleazy mcqueen had the fortune of meeting a friendly moscovite with an excellent selection of re-edits gathering dust on the hard drive. from the stab- centric *it shouldnt work, but it does* re-edit of grapevine to the cosmic groover, revolution in morder, the straight up boogie of highest mountain and the laidback ease of cant get enough-- more than most, this really does offer something for all (groovy) dancefloors.

debut vinyl release of new russian label based in moscow, hosted by agcp (a guy called phone) also more known in russia as sasha partyphone. focused on producing young russians (and ex ussr republics) underground artists, who was inspired by 70s, 80s and 90s. also concentrate on producing not only basic dance music, but and music for the different moments of live with the funky, old school and different other influences as well. rush inside (which sounds like russian side) - is a compilation of deep, funky, groovy, new disco sounds by unknowns underground producers from moscow and st. petersburg. the first step in attempt to present a part of contemporary russian electronic scene.

*its own course* is a double whammy! jay west and stee downes join forces to deliver a true club bomb with an acid touch. it combines a groovy bassline, impulsive drums and warm rhodes chords that simply reek of hit-potential. the track has a compelling build-up, storming towards an inevitable climax and is shimmed by stees distinctive voice. let yourself be guided by its flow.

a surprising house release, muredo, an ep with a generous acoustics in which the rythm is frontal but the story is told just behind. the raf are two habitual offenders of the well done track. when the muredo track slowly wakes you up and meticulously tries hard to describe the morning gestures, murefa carry on with a breathless ride. the second inspiration is only taken when everything had come to an end, in a calmness orchestrated by val at the helm of an abstract groovy remix. this ep is the first signature on the recent french label seconde and a lot of things are supposed to come soon.

for this beginning of the year caramelo has picked up for you some fresh sounds coming from his labels boss kosme and his new talent from the followed scene of vienna: perrez. this 3rd ep has many influences as it is the spirit of the label. *love sensation* from perrez sounds like a house anthem, a very groovy track with this never-ending piano and the fabulous voice of lh! his 2nd track *de l ame* is made with all his vibrations and his emotions for music, straight to the danceflloor with this funky bass and deep elements and of course: what a rhythm! on the flip, the lyons most wanted dj and producer kosme show here his house and dub sides. you can feel the beauty of kosmes house dub on *bonobo house* with also those synths used to bring this track on the heaven! *bear with a beard* is a house track with a touch of indus groove and a rhythm who made you slave of it!

ffr start well 2013 with a vinyl release which could be qualified as indecent, featuring an original track by phonokemi, remixed by two well respected artists, the italian nico lahs and the incredible german producer tim xavier. a release with multiple facets: deep, tech house, minimal & mental and chicago-bump-styleas we would come to expect from phonokemi, thoughts is a deep tech house track of extremely high quality. with a deep and pumping baseline and well refined vocals, thoughts is dark and groovy on one hand and an invitation to dance on the other, with absolutely no second thoughts.nico lahs s remix is an ultra-personal and mental re-read of the original track: minimal and elegant, cosmic and organic this track is reminiscent of some of ricardo villalobos s reference productions.finally tim xavier takes us straight to the centre of the universe: the dancefloor. his remix is a real dancing machine… pumping basses, efficient snares and sublime vocals that loop the loop and make this ep a killer release.

the multicultural artist arash (with persian origins) made his first contact with electronic dance music in the mid 90s. mainly influenced by the classic house sound of the 90s and the german electronic music scene around frankfurt, he found his passion to house & techno music. as a teenager he started to spin vinyl and got deeper & deeper into the world of dance music and club culture. after a few years of loving & living he started to host & play on his own parties in the region with his own touch and view of electronic dance music. this was followed by appearances in various clubs and off locations. his dj sets are made of a danceable mixture of groovy deephouse and techhouse. 2011 arash started to take his passion on the next level with shaping his own sound. since then he released tracks on record labels like kiara records (barcelona), bla bla (amsterdam), be real (amsterdam) and night drive music (berlin). arash is definitely an artist to keep a close eye and ear on!
