repress 2015... presented are 4 previously unreleased cuts from the vault of ben cozmo d cenac, producer of newcleus, dream 2 science, push/pull & sha-lor. written in the late 80s / early 90s, these tracks have been sitting on dat tapes for over 20 years. the tracks themselves feature bens wife yvette cenac a/k/a vai cee from dream 2 science and lady e of newcleus, gregg fore a/k/a buster fhott from dream 2 science and push/pull, the cellar boyz a/k/a the original jam-on djs and finally shareen evans. a career musician, bens instrumentation and programming is timeless, its a sound that cannot be replicated. we are humbled to be working on a project such as this. dont sleep, its a rare 12 inch vinyl weapon!

messed up house ep is the right mood s debut on vinyl and for the four tracks on it, house music borrows their foundations. powerful kick drums and bright handclaps make the tight bases that carry lots of musical influences, from distorted guitar amps to brazilian percussion, passing through techno bleeps and minimal noises, all of them, always involved by huge basslines that will put to proof the sound system s capabilities of reproducing low-end frequencies. underground house music has found a place in this bundle. an ep title was never so true!

its release time for house is ok! frankfurt based label waited a bit longer than usual for its co-owner marko pelaic aka homeboy to come up with new sounds so it doesnt really surprise theyve decided to let him take over this, one man reign ep, first of that sort for this etiquette. kaprije is not only news for the label but homeboy himself in a way he defined it as writing a new chapter, stepping away from traditional house music, exploring more of the experimental and modern sounds a direction hes interested in continuing.

we are proud to have dug out these two bomb tracks from the 90&#8242,s by manchester legend kid simmons. for some weird reasons these tracks were never released, but here we go now: 2 funky house bombs that will make you bounce and jump like there was no tomorrow. expect more to come from the archives of this man!

wph kicks off 2015 with a new e.p. by the mighty luv jam from wales. living in a universe that is entirely his own andrew cole has cooked up two more of his ‘especially for wph’-tracks. one here at wph hq can only be flattered! ‘californian freestyler’ is the more peak time burner of the two, but ‘bmx bandito’ will not disappoint the more discerning punters out there either. on remix duty we find the main artist from our friends at uncanny valley in dresden, jacob korn. any work by jacob is always a treat and this here is no exception. flexing our digging talents we have also licensed a luv jam remix from the good people at panta rhei that was only released on limited 7”. we feel it deserved to be on a 12”, so there.

brilliant new balearic house ep from copenhagens music for dreams label. the opening track came to life when two danish djs - mads dalholt and zimino - made their own remixed version of al jawalas *go east* for playing out. mfd label head kenneth bager heard it, loved it, tested it out on his coma club dancefloor and it drove the crowd nuts with people literally screaming for more rewinds of this pumping horn-blasting oriental in-your-face party track. if you are a fan of acid arab and 80s leo mas/afredo style amnesia dancefloor madness then this one is for you. on side b we have the debut track from mads dalholt and partner landers - *zengo* is a sexy uplifting house groover with spacey keyboards, afro vocal hooks and a lively sax. followed by a second landers/dalholt cut, the slower more balearic *aelba* is built around a simple melodic guitar riff with some mellow xylophone bringing a warm sunshine feel. great debut for the young danes.

despite being an obsessive record collector for most his life, a globetrotting dj who s toured the world dozens of times over, a go-to remixer for numerous labels, both high profile and fledgling (dfa, mute, permanent vacation, warp, defected), co-owner of several imprints, lph itself being one of them, and producer behind a handful of house and disco tunes that started trickling out in the mid-aughts, jacques renault has managed to never release a true, honest to god ep comprised of originals. that s about to change with out of sync, a four- tracker that exemplifies all renault is, has been, and aspires to become —and that serves as a lead-up to his debut full-length, which will hit shelves next year

after taking a short break house of disco records are back with a purpose. not content with the adding to the plethora of disco edit labels representing the genre they have opted to walk a more distinct path, determined to lean on originals or clever sampling as opposed to outright re-rubs. in this their twelfth release they recruit previous label-mate harry wolfman and compadre skinny love to provide three stunning dancefloor ready originals. the duo have certainly delivered on the brief and turned in three diverse and clever takes on what a modern disco track with a house soul can represent. on remix duties they have recruited a promising young producer kickflip mike, who has released on box aus holz as joschka seibt and paired him with experienced disco merchant the revenge who is responsible for some of the best remixes we know of, and he doesnt disappoint here with either remix.

classic 6 track ep from rheji burrell from 1989 on nycs infamous nu groove. all 6 tracks have been remastered for 2014 and released in original artwork. re-released in conjunction with rheji and & ronald burrell.

if youve been even the most casual participant in or observer of the nyc dance music and club scene over the past decade, youve most definitely encountered luca venezia, a.k.a. curses, who once was better known as drop the lime, a central figure in the trouble & bass crew. where dtl was all stripped and chewed dubstep and grime, curses is clearly of a house bent, albeit one thats been cut with plenty of heavy bass, breakbeat-leaning drums, and a frantic energy that one wouldnt find on classic chicago 12inches.

after a lengthy break mark henning returns with his new label swing and four on-point tracks. *stash house* kicks things off with a crisply produced groove with snatched male vocals and rounded bass keeping the swing high. *exit acid* ups the energy levels with an acidic tinged b-line proving a grimier feel whilst flip sides *james hughes blues* is all about the breakdown, a neat synth line and huge bass tones lending it a more anthemic edge. lastly *the horror* opts for a lower key ride, fuller male vocal imbuing the track with a sleazier feeling.

for their sixth release, lets play house has headed down under to scoop up australias fantastic man, a second identity of dj/producer mic newman, with which the melbourne-based artist explores-and exposes-another side of his musical and stylistic skills. and the four original songs on the its essential ep most definitely mark a bit of a departure from newman’s trademark sounds: he has exchanged the thumping, peak-hour, hands-in-the-air chaos and messiness of hits like 2009s *sizzled sally* for a more refined and subtle breed of deep house.

lph whites latest is another made­for­the­club sureshot winner from label co­founder and ­owner jacques renault himself. if youve caught one of his sets around the world sometime this year, youve most likely heard the house banger? and consequently gone nuts. its impossible to resist the temptations of the bombastic drums, fat bass, chopped up vocals, and dubby synth hooks included within. a shining example of renault doing what he does best.

2nd in the house of disco series sees a link up with the mighty kolour recordings out of detroit. ft some of the finest names around and pressed on very limited pink vinyl.

damian schwartz and jonas kopp, two old friends and part of the esperanza family come back to the label to deliver a split ep full of deepness and dubby yet summerish feeling. a side, hidden house its the deep cut of the record with a huge detroit feeling, analog synths, melodies, pads. chords, strings. jonas track on the b side is a great tool we have been using for years already, 100% his own unique stlyle of dubby techno. must have!
