Ülar aasmäe aka spin science is a newcomer from estonia following the footsteps of his heroes rulers of the deep and dave storm. >fill your soul< is his first ever ep to be released. this debut ep on cabrio records is a good example of the deep and groovy sounds spin science is after. fill your soul is a nice smooth deep house track with mellow pads and techy chords. smooth vocals by elsa hill. in the remix the vocals remain, but atmospheric chords and a bass line that has more drive in it are added. tonic is a more soulful track with a pumping bass line and vocals. acid lines and saw chords make it a nice club track for sure

aka troy pierce (minus), enemy love ( cover y our face ) is a collection of dark eerie and sometimes twisted minimal techno tracks. all the tracks sit together in a similar v ein, but all shine indiv idually and the album walks the ambigious line between dancef loor hits and af ter hours jams. tunes like the anthemic grace (anxiety ) with its almost post-punk v ocal and hy pnotic, twangy melody is sure to send dancef loors ov er the edge. ref lected and leav ing take y ou down a darker path of introspection with the help of gibby millers dark, brooding v ocals. this album will push and pull y ou through a tripped-out laby rinth of sounds, sad and heavy-hearted at times powerful and full of grace others

soul preacher (kroma, konsequent)delivers a strong 3-tracker.. moroder-ish driven basslines, funky drums and a lot of energy and massive breaks.. all together, pure techno-funk like macro carola !!
a three track serving of some tasty tech-tribal funk. nothing but jamming dancefloor flavors on this one, setting things off with the cut-up funk/b-boy stomper 'backside bump' and the bass-happy hypnotic grooves of 'midas touching'. on the flip the dark and driving west coast vibe of 'you do all that' fits perfectly in with the classic casa sound: a stark tech-house groover thatll satisfy all the mastik soul/gideon jackson fans out there. scintillating stuff from the casa boys

an outstanding 4 tracker of ultra intense minimal house with overtones of authentic old school techno. being the result of a pure analogue, warm, soulful sound having being blended into the machines, which rediscovers the good old days of chicago house music

like all dj koze records, knock knock exists outside of trend and influence. in fact, it s a step further beyond: absolutely every single thing here, from grooves to voices to handclaps, is otherworldly and unique. which is not to say it is utterly alien abstraction, mind. there is still disco, there is still soul, there is still techno, there is still hip hop, there is still psychedelia Ð there are even wafts of easy listening, lost crackly thriftstore record memories and... sort of... indie rock Ð but though it may sound familiar, it never does what your brain thinks it s going to do.
