salvation is found by identifying thesis and antithesis of a logically conceived duality as a receptive polarity which is then synthesized and expressed on a higher level. thereby practicing what is preached is the all-embracing love in the presence of the creator. the purest original state pre-dating the judgmental so called >fall of man< in unity with life itself is the principle of holiness and the root of inner peace. glory to g-d!

the story of bonobo is one that has become uncommon in contemporary music. there was no sudden, viral internet sensation, no one-off big hit, no abrupt, accidental alignment with the zeitgeist. instead, over the course of four albums, myriad tours, singles, remixes and production work for other artists, he quietly but very definitely became one of the most important artists in electronic music. the hard work paid off, and culminated in 2010s black sands, a masterful album that married greens inimitable melodic genius and musicianship to bleeding edge electronics, bass and infectious drums.
after a year plus of touring the hypnotic, extended live versions of black sands, he finally found time last year to embed himself in his new york studio and write his fifth studio album. now, in 2013, he stands ready to take things up yet another notch. the north borders is a long stride forward - both a natural evolution and a continuation of the electronic palette of black sands. thematic, resonant, addictive and perfectly formed, it is a thrillingly coherent statement piece.

only a very small handful of djs and producers have the ability to transcend all styles and genres, rising above fleeting trends and cliques creating their very own sonic landscapes. gallic legend laurent garnier sits effortless amongst those few, blending techno, deep house, drum n bass and jazzy funk with total ease. his latest opus >tales of a kleptomaniac< released on may 11th 2009, pushes his already vast musical boundaries further than ever before, showcasing a devilish diversity that has made him one of dance musics greatest assets.kicking off with the classic skyy sampling >no music, no life< laurent takes no prisoners with block party chants and handclaps making way for some mind expanding bleepage and cone ripping bass. >freeverse part 1< follows at a deceptively relaxed pace before thundering 808s and the superlative gallic rhymes of micflow build into high octane lounge funk, replete with lilting horns and screaming guitars. current single >gnanmankoudji (horny monster mix)< heads into epic territory with driving four to the floor kicks, cut up vocals and tribal percussion laying the foundation for a menacing bass progression peppered with stabbing horns. film noir soundtrack vibes permeate the double bass and shuffling beats of >dealing with the man< before >last dance @ yellow<s deep and blissful four in the morning loops take hold. >desirless< features classic laurent grooves, growing exponentially as the track snakes its way into your head and all the way down to your feet whilst the lustful >pay tv<s breathy samples and libidinous grooves burst into life with huge drums and crushing bass making like a 21st century serge gainsbourg. >bourre pif (avant bath time!)< cranks up the bpms, rinsing some firing drum n bass leading into a return to >freeverse< this time with a stripped to the bone mix featuring tumi spitting the lyrics over the disrobed beats and subs. >back to my roots (back to my technodiziak roots mix)< displays the sort of expansive percussive techno the likes of which only laurent garnier can make, as >food for thought<s digital dub lays the framework for legendary electric dread winston mcanuff to strut his stuff, leaving the laidback twisted jazz flavours of >from deep within< to close >tales of a kleptomaniac<.

the third release by the finnish producer leftover on the label. as always the tracks are full of deepness with a well balanced mix of echos, reverbs. this is again a fantastic release from him, which will become a future classic!
another true classic, coming straight out of 1996 detroit to 2010s decks. produced by sean deason, released on his label matrix records, this track lives up to its name on todays dancefloors as it did back then. a timeless trip for body and mind!
hot on the heels of the dj mix of 2013 from john talabot and following luminaries such as maya jane coles, maceo plex and breach, next in line to mix it up for the esteemed !k7 dj-kicks series is aus music and simple records boss will saul.
the second m_recs release confirm the label concept: pure techno sound. in this release max m (m_recs owner) presents the title track >egg< with his repetitive groove characteristic. three big artists make the remixes. the first one by the english chris finke (flux recordings), the second one its too hard by the dutch techno master bas mooy (audio assault) and the third rmx is by the dutch intelligent techno artist charlton ravenberg (labyrinth, audio assault). if this is just the second release, i cant imagine the future of this label. its a concentrate of the best techno for all the techno crowd. big!
after five years as londons foremost retailer of dance and electronic music, phonica is launching its eponymous record label with an original production from its very own hector alongside long-time friend and collaborator ben bryant, backed with a remix from appleblim & al tourettes.
the maurizio story continues with two more techno dub tracks of astonishing width, depth and presence of every single sound element. some chords appear after a break in the middleand gives the ongoing groove even more drive.
a breakthrough artist features on this, the new 7th sign, which also sees conforce deliver a slick remix. here the label once again unearths some new talent. leeon, a glasgow-based dj and producer, uses his debut to serve up three beautiful slices of the proper machine soul we ve come to expect from 7th sign. conforce is the gifted and restless producer from terschelling, holland whose deep, pulsating, atmospheric, expertly-designed pieces of music have also appeared on respected imprints like clone, delsin, meanwhile and rush hour.
side label for millions of moments with deep chords and big dubby basslines and everlasting echos getting lost in space. 4 tracks by bvdub, sf100, masafumi eno and shinsuke matsumoto. futuristic vintage techno on this fine label from berlin!!
the second 12” from the burgeoning proto sites imprint comes from hungarian deconstructivist s olbricht. trancess plunges into hazy ambient techno and distorted house depths, exploring the gritty themes present in his recent cut for lobster theremin and the consistent body of work for the likes of opal tapes, gang of ducks, sicsic or his own farbwechsel imprint.
two dubbed techno wonders on a coloured 7 platter. lars fenin, born and raised in hamburg has been around the music scene in berlin since the mid 90ties as reggae guitarist/songwriter/live-act/artist/producer/dj. his first experiments in electronic music started in 1998 with some friends in hamburg, followed two years later by his first ep release called ″,,,,herr pitzelberger dreht auf” for the berlin based label shitkatapult. since then fenin has released several eps and albums for his homies shitkatapult as well as 12″,,,,, s and remixes for labels like echocord, revolver, eintakt and mitek among others. along the years he could boast collaborations with artists such as deadbeat, mikael stavostrand, d-meteo, k.j. gibbs, horace andy, der dritte raum, eraldo bernocchi and jeff milligan. since 2008 he runs also his own label called dock-records. soundwise, fenins productions range from roots reggae/dub pieces to cordish/melodic techno sets and electronic alike soundscapes. the future is unwritten.
first on decks .de !!! sa007 sees perc and modern heads create the first collaborations between these two core stroboscopic artefacts artists. the result is a punishing hybrid of percs dubstep tendencies and modern heads cutting techno. a-side >mendax< is cavernous. built upon solid dub foundations, it spills over into grinding, metallic territory. if the titles to be believed it takes inspiration from the shady world of lies and deceit. the atmosphere seems to agree, theres certainly something mendacious at work here. b1 takes the eps atmosphere and adds abrasion. in >percdax< cold, hard percussion is layered over a bed of warm dub. closer >moddax< errs on the eerie. it skulks, is full of sticky bleeps and the result is unnervingly dubbed out. all three track titles share the same suffix and if this indicates that they also share one quality its that theyre best heard in the glinting shadows of a club just before day break. sa007 was craftily mastered by artefacts mastering, berlin.
