nice price deal !!! for its next release, mos calls on the services of label head aroy dee and perlon/rush hour man san proper to craft a beautiful four track ep entitled perfume. the truth of the matter is, after the friends had enjoyed something of a wild night out in amsterdam, they returned to san propers studio for a live session which involved a bottle of scotch!

to celebrate his mos deep sub label reaching its tenth release, boss man aroy dee has teamed up in the studio with ma spaventi for the labels next release, namely a split 10 inch featuring two tracks: >wrecking< and >mr. floyd<. first up is amsterdams best kept production secret aka marco the doctor spaventi. his >wrecking< is a blisteringly raw house construction with ripping synth lines, delicate hi-hats and slow, crawling kick drums building up to an incendiary, chicago referencing peak where pinging cow bells shooting in all directions. its a bold track designed for maximum dance-floor damage. on the flip, aroy builds in layers. his >mr floyd< is all muted synth growls, clattering percussion and blissful pads. its a tortured deep house track that challenges you before really soothing you, but once the inner beauty is revealed, it really has you under an enchanting spell. another quality release from mos deep, this time on highly collectible 10 inch vinyl.

dreamy floaty melodic techno on this mos release. with a heavy remix from morphosis. very nice! label boss aroy dee signs for his already 8th release on his own mos recordings label. the track >beauty< reminds his labels first release, a basic dreamy melodic house track. on the b-side we find man of the moment rabih baeani aka morphosis dropping a heavy remix. hot on the heels of his praised >what have we learned<-album takes his dark dusty >cabinet<-remix all things in perspective.

the first track >once u loved<, is warm and emotional, with slowly evolving strings topped with mysterious whispering vocals, reminding to older blake baxter material. 2nd track, >tears< is a fierce and sexy chicago-house influenced dancetrack, with a solid baseline, steady beats and lush keys.<br 7>first track on the b-side is >lift me high<, a downtempo dreamlike analogue house classic with haunting strings and vocals of miss salvador, merging larry heard and g-strings with an italo-disco kind of atmosphere. last on this ep is >soul spark<, an atmospheric techno track with the raw energy of early relief-releases and the psychedelia of dance mania.

aroy dee strikes again. after his gorgeous track on the magnificent planet delsin compilation, two more spiritual old school chicago house movers from the amsterdam architect. the man aroy dee, still making his music on the same few pieces of hardware as 15 years ago, comes in with two gorgeous pieces of music. dark day brings back memories to old virgo tracks, the legendary group on chicagos trax records. hypnotizing synth lines along the smooth drum patterns. embrace on the flip has a more 80s european vintage feel to it, with its darker repeating synth line. a great record for all people loving old school chicago
