hybris is a state of dissoluteness, of loss of control, of greed and of lustfulness. following that motto, wice takes his listeners on a journey through a hybristic process on his second steinlach ep, which chooses an enchanting and euphemistic entrance into hybris with absent (no aggression). gentle pads create a peaceful and dreamy world that is turned into a fascinating landscape of sound by trippy drums and dopey synths and so pushes wide open the gate to hybris. the threateningly booming hb11 then finally enters the state of hybris: synths and drums pump adrenaline in heads and bodies, dancing turns into greed, the complete lack of control sets in. that lack of control riots towards its peak with the eponymous hybris, which tears the listener in technoid and gritty manner into the abyss of hybris and holds him captive down there. hybris is followed by nemesis, the divine punishment ending in death: wice interprets this transition towards nemesis with hertz, a playful and breaky good-night kiss, which feels pretty damn good and resonates bittersweetly.

twice aka patrick gibin established himself as a selector to be reckoned with through his black aroma re-edit series, and now he brings his penchant for deep cuts and dusty reworks to the rnt catalog. stretching over the a-side is sunrise, a bouncy sunny synthy affair, seemingly made for summer rooftops and pool parties. on the flip, searching updates a woke soulful 70s anthem, and take flights loops a boogie instrumental with hypnotic simplicity. re-edits done proper.

hedonism in its purest form means nothing but adjusting one’s life and ambition towards pleasure and joy as well as the prevention of pain and sorrow. following that concept, wice’s first ep takes the listener along on a journey of extremes: persistently strolling between sensual desire, ecstasy and lust as well as the deepest abysses of human sensitivities.

2017 repress, second release for twice and native under the “flying machines” moniker. from proto-house and obscure italo-disco to balearic soul and latin grooves, this 5-track limited edition ep is a digger’s delight.

third release for patrick gibin aka twice and his ‘collective blends’ project, this time teaming up with kaidi tatham on keys. 3 unique cuts that go from the soulfulness of the title track ‘lights out’, to the hipnotic acid vibes of ‘high flames’ and the modern boogie flavour of ‘flash burn’.

third release of the flying machines series for twice and native: this 4 track ep is a deep journey through obscure electronica, spacey jazz, rough leftfield disco and rare groove.

second release for patrick gibin aka twice and his ‘collective blends’ project which includes musicians from his home town verona - italy : for this release the collective invited special guest clara hill on vocals. the raw hypnotic moog bassline together with the brazilian influenced hi-hats and rhythms of the title track “time goes by” build a solid atmospheric groove elevated by clara hills’ vocals, that give the track that unique soulful swing. on the flip, volcov’s spaced out dub version of “time goes by” is as deep as it gets and the third track, phanareega, keeps the energy high with its combination of live acoustic/electronic drums, sharp bassline and anthem strings.
