what should have been a quick process has taken a bit longer than we hoped, but thats the way of handcrafted products, be they ginger beer or sourdough bread, and like the bread, the vinyl is currently cooling down to ensure an undisturbed, top quality product. np004 contains two tracks, cunningly devised in yorkshire, reflecting the area s no nonsense attitude and warmth. the final touches of mastering, have been added once again by the highly trained ears of moog expert dr spaventi. this continues to give us a very important international dimension to what is still a local artisanal product. specially formulated to make you dance and give you something a little extra, we ve switched to stealth black paper sleeves for this release, and where cutting engineer failed with inscriptions, as can be their wont, we ve lovingly re-designed the label to incorporate details of the free gift we re providing

alex handley (auto sound city) and nigel rogers (perseus traxx) catch up on a regular basis to casually jam out on various machines in a kippax basement, then edit, twist and re-jam them in a york flat. housed in a white paper sleeve, this is a fantastic example of beautifully handcrafted yorkshire electronics, with a distinctively raw and rustic feel. the label, screen printed on a kitchen table, is a reflection of the punk ethic of the duo just doing as they please to please themselves. 100% handcrafted yorkshire honesty. limited to 200 copies!

copenhagens northern structures duo return on sonic groove with their second release entitled service & devotion . their debut release hit the scene with a strong bang. earlier this year you could not attend a proper techno event in berlin without someone dropping a track off their debut self similarity ep. djs such as ben klock, marcel dettmann , tommy 47, chris liebing , rolando & milton bradley were all playing it amongst any others. now back with their second release, northern structures follows up perfectly with three more songs of well crafted industrialized dark pumping techno. contemporary techno at its finest!

northern structures (troels baunbæk-knudsen and lasse buhl) are a copenhagen based techno duo. troels has been making all kinds of electronic music since the age of 14 but focused mainly on a long international drum’nbass carreer under the excentric pyro moniker. lasse is a longtime dj and has been developing his own productions, with a background in soundscapes and organised noise. both share a love for the harder and deeper sounds of techno not often found in copenhagen, taking in a wide range of influences from the early uk industrial and dub tinged berlin sound to jazz, experimental electronica and rock. the ambition is to create a marriage of industrial and organic textures by avoiding strict rules of programming and aiming for more of a jam based musical playground feel.

>mr nice< features snippets of howard marks which are interlaced with clattering breakbeats and booming sub bass. while we are sure howard would approve of a late night after party session, for many this will be the soundtrack to what happens before they leave the club! label boss steppa and his co-producer kitcha provide an excellent aa side which harks back to the classic formation records era. splicing in cheeky samples lifted from anthems of old and twisting them into something brand new, this one is just as fearsome on the dancefloor.
