to shorten a night-time tale into it s evidence: fuck reality is finally here. the piano mix- still to be heard on undefinably diverse dancefloor around the globe and without a doubt our, the, true westbam classic, needed to be digged again by the kids and ravers- the time is now. along the hard-to-beat original, it s smallpeople, the true lovers, and the never-beaten gerd janson in control of both a new version and a version of the version. go dance!
nena’s “feuer und flamme” (german for “fire and flame”, with the additional figurative meaning of “great enthusiasm”) was released in 1985. it’s the third album by german pop band nena and the fourth studio album of its singer, gabriele “nena” kerner. the album was a success, reaching no. 2 in germany.
prompted by the success of “99 luftballons” (1984), which included english-language versions of songs from the band’s first two albums, nena recreated “feuer und flamme” in english as “it’s all in the game” (1985), with lyrics by canadian singer lisa dalbello. the experiment failed commercially and was not repeated with the band’s next album. gabriele kerner recorded a new bilingual german-english version of “anyplace, anywhere, anytime” with kim wilde in 2002.

nena (1983) is the first album by german pop rock band nena and the second studio album of its singer, gabriele -nena- kerner. the album was a great success in west germany and the second single -99 luftballons- – a fable of nuclear war brought about by a bunch of balloons in the sky being mistaken on radar for a pre-emptive missile attack- successfully reached #1 in the music charts in the u.s. and worldwide.
the first nena album was released as part of the music genre called neue deutsche welle, new german wave movement in the german music. all five members of the band contributed to the songwriting. they were a unique group of musicians with a strong intuitive grasp of both classic pop and rock formulas. nena insisted that she saw herself as a member of the band and not as their leader.
the album is still regarded as an unsurpassed classic of german pop history, although most later nena albums are not far behind in quality.

“? (fragezeichen)” (german for “question mark”) is the second album by german pop-rock band nena. it was released in 1984, just a year after the band’s first album nena (movlp1496). the album’s title track was co-written by nena and the band’s keyboard player jörn-uwe fahrenkrog-petersen. it reached #3 in the german charts in 1983.

gutis name has been on everyones lips of late. his collaboration with dubshape -every cow has a bird- was championed by pretty much every house jock on the planet and his recent debut album on loco dices desolat received widespread acclaim. now hes teamed up with luca bacchetti - who has built up a solid reputation with releases on imprints on labels such as ovum recordings, wagon repair, supernature and be as one - for their first collaborative release. the esa nena quiere ep contains two sizzling slices of latin-flavoured loveliness, both of which are instilled with an appropriately warm blaze of summer sunshine. both extremely creative and massively complimentary of one another, this is a collaboration that looks likely to blossom in the future, but for now we caught up with them both to discuss the eps origins, their studio time together, and where exactly where the record is best enjoyed
steve lawlers viva music sees francisco allendes & aldo cadiz turn in three tracks of innovative, forward thinking percussive house.
