auf bless you hat xiaolin bereits die city-pop-hymne „plastic love“ von mariya takeuchi und das hongkong-pop-sternchen „afterwards“ von prudence liew aus dem jahr 1980 neu interpretiert. jetzt hören wir ihre neuinterpretation von „half a dream“, das erstmals auf der lp „city girl“ von tina liu aus dem jahr 1987 das licht der welt erblickte und zu einem sehr begehrten und geliebten raren juwel des kantonesischsprachigen synth-pop-kanons der späten 80er jahre geworden ist. neben xiaolin, die diesem extrem eingängigen jam mit ihrem markenzeichen, dem zurückgenommenen charme, der mit einem geschickten produktionsstil verschmolzen ist, neues leben einhaucht, haben wir zwei separate instrumentalversionen und den begnadeten südkoreanischen produzenten mogwaa als remixer bekommen, der einen glatten, verträumten dancefloor-cut liefert.
