agnostic & sportsmen, 1989, ktitor, dj whipr snipr ft. amela, satoi and dos all contribute tracks to mood of the era’s six track compilation. a collection of warm, groove worn, floaters collected from seven corners of the world. some of these tracks have been marinating on the internet, some come fresh from the studio but all of them are delicious nuggets of dreamy house music.

for its premier release, division point industries is proud to announce a 4-track ep by rolling ones, a collaborative project featuring johannes auvinen (tin man) and jordan poling (jordan). rolling ones finds its voice in the synthesis of each artist s sound, combining tin man s acidic melodies with jordan s deep, textural pads. debuting at the division point industries residency at bushwick s notorious bossa nova civic club, rolling ones marked their arrival by playing a dj back-to-back set. opening the record is 93 mustang , a muscular, no-nonsense roller built around deep wells of warm bass and slick-piston percussion. as it builds, tin man s signature acidic squelch dances in the remaining space, giving the track a sense of both life and depth. next is faded delorian , an abyssal burner that refracts its ghostly tones around a panning labyrinth of crystalline synths. on the flip is slammed cadillac , a sinewy, stripped down stomper of clattering percussion and caustic 303s. jacked up impala finishes the record as a jacking acid tool. founded by jordan poling, division point industries is a new label built on the success of a collaborative residency with cory james at brooklyn s bossa nova civic club. having hosted artists ranging from the established to the underground, division point industries has crafted a no-nonsense take on deep house and techno that is rich in history while remaining focused on the future.

following the release of their debut lp, keep up appearances on their new label modelmaker, dan berkson and james what draft in frank & tony, dana ruh, dorisburg and alan doe for remixes. berkson & what have chalked up many releases on poker flat and crosstown rebels over the years whilst most recently turning heads outside of their own modelmaker imprint via singles for dogmatik and seth troxler s play it say it. the duo s lp, released in january, marked a new chapter in their production history and has seen support from josh wink, mr g and skream over the past few months. keep up appearances - remixes opens with anthony collins and francis harris superb frank & tony alias taking on seraphim which results in a tense but understated piece of layered, classic sounding house music while dana ruh, fresh from her excellent debut lp on underground quality last year, drops an eerie recreation of worship that draws on spacey synths and unsettling ambience. dorisburg, known for outstanding material on sweden s aniara amongst others, continues a sterling run of form with a rendition of feel free which employs soaring chords to fashion a luscious and elevating take on the original. rounding off the package is berlin producer alan doe, an artist who debuted on rue de plaisance in 2014. doe s worship remix is squarely dancefloor-aimed with punchy kicks, smokey effects and teasing keys

borrowed language returns with their third installment of genre agnostic electronics. following the explosive release of unltd & israel vines >distance no object< ep (featured in millie & andreas superb lwe podcast, and charted by the likes of dj pete & grovskopa) was no easy feat, but jeff pietro proves to be more than up to the task with this brilliant 2-track 10 inch. as with earlier releases on borrowed language, this effort exemplifies the continuing refinement of the labels aesthetic. while some influences are clearly detectable, this is not just cannon fodder, there is enough attention to detail and panache on display here to distinguish pietros take on techno/bass music from his peers. the results are polished, but not without sharp edges, brutal, but elegant, functional, but not faceless.
