!! 2018 repress !! after releasing morgenland album der dritte raum records stable drops their eight ep, bringing up hale bopp, which some of you may know from trance shenanigans back in the roaring 90s. what makes it even more better then the original classic track are the re-interpretations. ricardo villalobos & cavaan flashes their acclaimed producer talents and their works are both very original and quite different from each other
three years incubation, visionquest compadre antonio thagma returns to follow up his evergreen ‘leather soul’ ep. taking off where his molten constructions left us in 2015, it’s another kinetic experience where the groove is full, and only, focus… and the one and only ricardo villalobos is on hand for a genuinely beautiful remix. ‘sferikum’ instantly locks you in: upbeat with a subtle strut and a maze of psychedelic textures, this one is all about the rolling subs that underpin every element, bringing everything together with fluid motion. it’s backed by the broken electroid charm of ‘everything i wanted’. spacious, pensive and laced with an array of dizzying details from sly acid sinews to crafty drum variations by way of a sudden heart-stopping breakdown. truly, this lives up to its name. complementing these two exceptional originals, and celebrating antonio’s return to visionquest at the highest level possible, villalobos has been recruited for remix duties. a key staple of his sets this summer, it’s a singular 13 minute trip rich in subversion, twists, glitches and surprises. but, as always, the groove is the full, and only, focus. welcome back antonio…

12" Vinyl D27.07.18
!! 2018 repress !! after a seven years release break, mambotur take you on a quality journey of airiness. except for the stunning result, there is nothing magical about it, because berlin-based venezuelan argenis brito and chilean pier bucci take nonchalance seriously.
limited 2018 repress !!
the timeless classic that is energy 52s >cafe del mar<, first released in 1993, has been rejuvenated and re-invented with 2 brand new remixes from germanys leading beat scientist ricardo villalobos. mysterious like a deserted bay at midnight, and blissful like the balmy white sands of ibizas hidden beaches, ricardos main mix snakes and meanders over 9 minutes of pure minimalist magic. filtering and reducing the originals main theme and bass pattern, a purely electronic interpretation is formed with ultra deep kick drums, and silky, woody textured percussion
villalobos and argenis brito getting trippy... to coincide with their 8th year, toitoi gear up for their biggest release yet with ricardo villalobos & argenis brito teaming up under ‘pol & pox’. ‘el malekon’ kicks things off in typically trippy fashion with loose percussive groove and a subdued bassline line whilst disembodied vocals swirl in and out of the mix. ‘rikileaks’ conjures up more aquatic joy, this time with a more pronounced male vocal being the centre point to another beautifully meandering 11 minute ride.
JEAN LUC GODARD REMIXES (RICARDO VILLALOBOS REMIX)
12" Vinyl UK15.05.18
audio-visual artists soundwalk collective were granted exclusive access to the personal archive of the groundbreaking filmmaker and present their ambitious new album and remix ep: what we leave behind. the nyc and berlin based group were invited to aurally explore the archive of the seminal french director jean-luc godard and release their interpretations in an innovative new album what we leave behind. drawing on godards personal collection of shot film, reel- to-reels and historical ephemera, the recordings reveal the moments before and after the camera rolls, from stage directions and on-set asides to rehearsals, false stars and outtakes.
as part of the ten-year anniversary dekmantel presents the final record in a ten-part-ep series. split into two parts due to its immensity, the final instalment is a re-issue of tony allens asiko (in a silent mix) originally released in 1999 and remixes by motor city drum ensemble and ricardo villalobos. the first part features a grandiose 29-minute ricardo villalobos version of the afrobeat masters cut. a true collaboration of giants.having been a regular at the festival for several years now, villalobos delivers a remix, one of his longest to date, that only he can produce. allowing the percussion to breathe into a monumental rhythm, villalobos warps the vocals, restructuring the bass and drums into a rolling dub-fusion of techno that is characteristic of his remixes to date, yet still breathtaking in its execution. afrobeat-minimalism, with dub-infused fire, and near psychedelic ambience that perfectly synchs the worlds of tony allen, and ricardo villalobos, two legends who’ve helped re-shape the face of music. highlighting the diversity of sounds that have come to represent the dutch label and festival series, the eps to date have encompassed a range of artists and genres, featuring label favourites, as well as whole bunch of debuting artists. the ep series kicked off in march 2018, and over the course of a year featured the likes of gigi masin, lena willikens, burnt friedman, donato dozzy, the egyptian lover, palms trax, and more.
classic original mix (remastered) + 4 (!) long ricardo villalobos remixes all four of these remixes are essential tracks that prove villalobos at the height of his powers, and as such they are sure to become regulars in his dj sets throughout 2018.
the second ep of samuel rohrer’s range of regularity album presents two more striking reinterprations. burnt friedman’s own dramatic interpre-tation of “microcosmoism” pairs up his consciousness of deep bass and analog inventiveness with rohrer’s continually transforming sound ob-jects, making for a flowing and wordless narrative that simply dares listen-ers to stop paying attention. feeling more like a collaboration in “real time” than a remix proper, friedman brings his characteristic ‘mad scientist’ wit to the proceedings and delivers an energetic piece that simply glows in the dark.
ltd 2018 repress
after delivering a remix for miss fitz and releasing the project rirom together with roman fluegel on our label, ricardo villalobos finally releases his first full solo single for raum musik under his villalobos moniker. two masterpieces of cutting edge electronic music done in a way that only he can do it. we are more than happy with this release and it will be released only on vinyl.
ISOLATION DIARIES (RICARDO VILLALOBOS AND BURNT FRIEDMAN REMIXES)
12" Vinyl NL23.11.17
ricardo villalobos remixes deardrum from alejandro mosso s album isolation diaries recently released on third ear. villalobos worked up a 40 minute jam from which this is a 9 minute section which moves from a gentle pattering of sounds into a full-on villalobos groove, taught and slinky at the same time, i.e. irresistibly funky. the jam then subsides into chattering noises before the groove begins again. burnt friedman s remix of isolation diaries is a slow burning super funky jam with classic burnt friedman dub elements laced through the track together with the melody twisted and phased. the closing track from the album, mounivers, completes this fine release.
RANGE OF REGULARITY REMIXES II (RICARDO VILLALOBOS RMX)
12" Vinyl D29.09.17
the second ep of samuel rohrer’s range of regularity album presents two more striking reinterprations. these new remixes provide an intriguing parallax view of the original tracks, using the percussive eclecticism of the parent lp as a starting point from which to journey into sonically vibrant, feature-rich territories. the production specialists on hand for this project include burnt friedman and ricardo villalobos. villalobos, has already formed a strong working relationship with rohrer’s ambiq trio, lends his talents to both of the eps. (ror remixes i - amel-ep716). nonplace label boss friedman, as well, has carved out a unique space for himself within the electronic world, logging several decades’ worth of releases that with dub-wise production sensibility, skewed humor, and riots of tone color. though each individual remix has its own character, they are all united in their ability to provide a quick cure for fatigue with the common “loop”: though not improvised, they are strung together from fleeting phrases that evolve as if they are taking on a life independent of their creators. burnt friedman’s own dramatic interpretation of “microcosmoism” pairs up his consciousness of deep bass and analog inventiveness with rohrer’s continually transforming sound objects, making for a flowing and wordless narrative that simply dares listeners to stop paying attention. feeling more like a collaboration in “real time” than a remix proper, friedman brings his characteristic ‘mad scientist’ wit to the proceedings and delivers an energetic piece that simply glows in the dark. this is complemented nicely by villalobos’ remix of “microcosmoism”. it carries the energy level of the 1st ep over to a new disk, while heavily experimenting with feelings of emotional ambiguity. at some points aggressive and at other points merely curious, this mischievous collage of attitudes feels as inspired by the questing jazz of sun ra as it is by continental techno. contemplative keyboard runs, enthusiastic spring-like percussion and malfunctioning machine chatter all coalesce to make this a most fascinating piece of multi-purpose electronic music.
to the untrained ear a collaboration between mosaic boss steve o sullivan and minimal house maestro ricardo villalobos may not seem like the most obvious sound clash. however, dig a little deeper and you ll find that both these artists have a long history and shared love of stripped back aesthetics and dubbed out rhythms carving out respective sounds that have never strayed far from their roots. sullric is the result of a daylong session at the end of 2016 where the pair plugged in, switched on and set everything to cycle: recording several hours worth of material to tape with an edit of their favourite passage worked into two versions in post-production.
ADVENTURES OF DAMA REMIXES BY RICARDO VILLALOBOS, BUTCH, TUFF CITY KIDS
12" Vinyl D15.02.17
2017 repress , remixes by ricardo villalobos, butch, tuff city kids
cybordelics was founded in 1993 in stuttgart, germany. in the same year, mike s., milan zemanec and daniel varga aka cybordelics released their hit adventures of dama on sven väth’s label harthouse. the record climbed up the uk dance charts to the 2nd place. people from london to germany, especially in the legendary omen club in frankfurt, danced to their techno anthems until the late afternoon. today’s artists like ricardo villalobos, sven väth, gregor tresher, chris liebing, gerd janson or anthony rother were at the omen club when this record was played for the first time, and they still consider adventures of dama a milestone in techno history. 23 years later, the new harthouse label begins 2016 with a remix ep, featuring remixes by ricardo villalobos, butch, tuff city kids, starting a new era of the harthouse story.
reboot takes another slice from his recent album ‘alive’ out for a walk. this time it’s ‘are you losing my mind?’. first we’re treated to the vinyl version full of everything we loved from the original. a stripped down tech house beat sprinkled with a might vocal hymn and plenty of groove. then ricardo takes over the track with his own very particular style. he’s made two distinct versions, ‘hauswiedermischung’ is first. as he’s known to do, villalobos created a kind of chaos in which the track lives without ever losing the groove and with plenty of little surprises to discover throughout. next is ricardo’s twenty four minute ‘losing my miles’ remix, and here is where he really loosens the grip on the track and lets it wander in and out of coherence, taking it and us along for a special ride that only ricardo can deliver. from beginning to end, you don’t know what to expect but you know it when it comes. get it, press play, and lose your mind.
drumma records turns 5 years old and to celebrate our anniversary we have prepared a very special ep. we are proud to release the long awaited collaborative project between ricardo villalobos and umho known as >ricmho.< ricardo and umho are friends since 20 years. for the first time ever they came together to make this vinyl. the tracks were produced last winter in berlin during their tour. the bond that ricardo and umho share for latin american music is present in both tracks. there are rhythmic and textural microworlds along with amazing syncopation and evocative melodies. these are fundamental traits of the latin american continent and integral elements of this duos musical language. 180g vinyl, shrinked and fullcover print.

ricardo villalobos is back on raum musik with his third solo single for our label. the a side is a signature sounding track that can easily be described as a true masterpiece of him and it also has been sought after already for quite a while now by the ones that have heard it. the b side is unusually straight compared to most of his recent productions and builds a great tension if you let it play for a while. it also works very well as a perfect mixing tool. we hope you like these tracks as much as we do and as for the rest we just prefer to let the music do the talking…
LETS DO IT AGAIN PART 2 (VILLALOBOS / SOUL CLAP REMIX)
12" Vinyl D25.01.16
for lets do it again 2. ricardo villalobos delivers his 2nd remix for the label (2 of 5) which hes worked up, alongside studio partner frank greiner, into a confoundingly brilliant reworking of eighties throwback. taking freaks original and already twisted sounds and vocals and twisting them up even further into another 14 minute (in its edited form) piece of musical genius
LETS DO IT AGAIN PART 1(VILLALOBOS REMIX)(140 G VINYL)
12" Vinyl D25.08.15
initial release for the relaunch of mff (music for freaks). the label was previously responsible for releases such as turning orange, washing machine, where were you when the lights went out, the creeps and worked with artists recloose / kenny hawkes / doc l junior / mark farina to name a few. for lets do it again… ricardo villalobos delivers in an innovative reworking. sent a variety of parts from tracks released on freaks - the man who lived underground album, ricardo took his inspiration from all of them and mixes them into a distinctively villalobos track - it was originally 14 minutes long
ricardo villalobos returns on raum musik with his second solo single for our label. this time time both sides are featuring other artists though. the a side is based on a sample, taken from the track called * buffalo demon* which is from the album * miniatures* by the duo alog, that was originally released on rune grammofon in 2005. on the b side ricardo is featuring his friend jorge gonzalez, the former lead singer, main songwriter and sole composer of the chilean band los prisioneros that is currently the frontman of los updates. the result is a very nice ep and we are quite happy with this release.
