fuji is the heavily percussive and improvisational style of nigerian popular music, at once modern and yet deeply rooted in the traditional islamic yoruba culture of nigeria.
here on this album nigeria fuji machine’s striking and powerful lead vocalist taofik yemi fagbenro soars above a wild and energetic backdrop of polyrhythms played on traditional talking drums, trap drums, electronic and street percussion to create a powerful wall of intense sound.

toby tobias has a lengthy history of disturbing the peace. this is his second offering for the esp institute. on side a, second stimulus stirs shimmering staccato chords, roaming pipes and detuned robotic sighs into quite the disorienting stew—the loose arrangement remaining fragmented over 9 minutes of touch-and-go 808 programming, picking up a pseudo bassline assembled from sub toms, introducing a gritty break loop and eventually blissing out into oblivion. with side bs synchro surfer, toby plays with the notion of suspense by gently teasing a muted kick and percussion rhythm under washes of white noise, bleeps and sirens that are tape-dubbed and which, over time, begin a dialogue with each other, as if the machines have declared mutiny on the garage. toby continues to stretch his limits with his output for the esp institute, possibly headed toward a full-fledged devolution of conventional dance music. these two songs may have you arrested for public nuisance.

as the 3rd single of j.s.s. s monthly release project, this includes a remix by carl craig !!! kiyotaka fukagawa aka calm (aka organlanguage and k.f., and the owner of music conception label) and kazuyuki shimizu aka herbest moon (also known as the rapper of tha blue herb and the owner of that label, the blue herb rec), combine here as the duo japanese synchro system and started their new project. this time an original song features the rap by kazuyuki shimizu under the name of ill-bosstino (you may never have heard of japanese rap, though) and that remix by carl craig, who has been dropping amazing songs in the market. speaking of remix, we can say it uses the voice of ill-bosstino rather than making his words stand out. either of them are mighty song. and an insert with japanese rap and english translation will be included, so it makes it possible for the people all over the world to feel that everyone lives on the earth are thinking about the same things when they are on dance floor, with enjoying crazy dance music...ltd repress

7 track ep/mini album by l/f/d/ms richard smith dream bleeds overflows with body jerking industrial, raw acid/techno, and hints of the warehouse sound of the late 90s and the caustic spirit of ebm. richard smith says about dream bleeds, attaching meaning to songs is often arbitrary but when the visceral feeling of music, particularly instrumental body music, is laid bare, the interaction is immediate and physical. these tracks thread together each starting point completely open, each new step informed by the last. i find it interesting that the process is the same but the outcome somewhat unexpected shaped by emotion, inspiration or even constraints of time, they evolve as they do in that time. they reach a different end point due to that evolution of circumstance.
