luke viberts technicolor-schwenk durch die welt des modernen funk. kerrier district nennt sich das funkige acid-dance-projekt des englischen elektronikkŸnstlers luke vibert. nach einem debŸtalbum - erschienen 2004 auf dem label rephlex und zwei maxis erscheint mit 4 erneut ein longplayer. die 14 tracks sind eine gro§artige collage aus samples und beats, old-school-drum-loops, sehr viel acid-funk und intensiver elektronik-disco. inspirieren lie§ sich vibert zum teil von der legendŠren ep -black devil disco club- von bernard fevre aus dem jahr 1978, die seitdem viele musiker beeinflusst hat. schaut man sich die trackliste mit titeln wie treacle tits und -discuntek an, erkennt man zwar eine portion kauzigen humors, doch sollte das nicht zur fehlannahme verleiten, vibert wŸrde seinen job nicht ernst nehmen. im gegenteil: 4, das auf cd und als trippel-lp erscheint, ist ein technicolor-schwenk durch die welt des modernen wohlfŸhl-funk, basierend auf einer unmenge an material, lustvoller programmierung und fetten bŠssen. der sommer kann kommen.

special nice price - luke vibert has made many great records over the years, but few are quite as well crafted as his 2004 debut album under the now familiar kerrier district alias. inspired by a mixture of metro area, black devil disco club, cheap synthesizers, early new jersey garage, italian house and, of course, classic disco, it remains a touchstone in the development of nu-disco. this timely reissue features freshly re-mastered versions of all ten tracks from the original album, plus the six tracks which made up 2006 s kerrier district 2 12inch. these include the loved-up, late 80s loveliness of ce porte, the 808 cowbell and vocoder laden disco nasty, and a typically eccentric ceephax remix of sho u rite.

schneeweiss vi: a collaboration of neighbours. over the years, oliver koletzki has continuously cited berlin as a point of reference and, more importantly, a source of inspiration. two of his albums gro§stadtmŠrchen and gro§stadtmŠrchen 2 have been a direct ode to the capital. friedrichshain, one of berlins vibrant districts, has always held a special place in olivers heat. this is where he started out when he first moved to the city, and this is where he lives now.

the last 12 months have been a boon for fans of luke vibert, with the veteran cornishman delivering a killer acid album for hypercolour, and a slick, melodious set of disco-inspired jams under his kerrier district alias. here he returns to regular home planet mu with another typically entertaining set inspired by classic british electronic music. utilising his battery of vintage music-making machines, vibert giddily doffs a cap to early 90s intelligent techno, rave-era hardcore, bleep, chicago acid and braindance, occasionally veering off track via easy listening inspired future jazz, wagon christ style hip-hop head-nodders (the title track, which doffs a cap to a forgotten, mid-90s remix he did for ninja tune) and squidgy, synth-propelled mutant electrofunk.
