the long-awaited first vinyl release from cassete records which established in 2011 as a netlabel !the first singles is from sol, the president of the label, which is evaluated by luke solomon, dj pierre, angel alanis as well as getting an established reputation for live performance. they celebate the joys and triumphs of groovy rhythm from a simple beat pattern. interweaved soft and hard sounds with synthesizers offers listeners a window into a unique sound vision. their significant sound differs from minimal, hard techno or dub techno. 4 tracks included.

next up on aus music is the return of label boss will saul working alongside long term label favourite komon. together the duo line up harmonise - a smouldering single that comes backed up with an almighty pair of remixes from osgut ton mainstay nick höppner and analogue aficionados juju & jordash. the title track kicks things off with glowing, interweaved synths and a pattering tom line. vocal snippets and trippy delays suffuse a purposeful bass tone before the 101 dub version rolls out with punchy drums and a sharp, darting acid line. berghain regular nick höppner then does what he does best with his remix in building a rich, hypnotic groove that steadily develops with intricacy and depth. dekmantel and golf channel regulars juju & jordash then drive a warped, rumbling synth line through spacey atmospherics rounding off another fine addition to the catalogue.

the fifth ep on firescope records, the new sub label of the legendary b12 records, welcomes mr john shima. established in sheffield in the early 90’s with a multitude of releases, john has appeared on ferox, boe recordings, common dreams, diametric, and subwax to name but a few ! the ep entitled elements unknown, is pure techno for laying back in a dark room and floating away, highly detailed layers of electronic sounds interweaved together to create emotion rarely found in electronic music. drawing inspiration from uk pioneers such as b12, stasis, lfo, black dog but delivering it in a modern way, john has managed to carve out his own unique sound while staying true to his roots. this is uncorrupted uk techno in its purest form.
