der 2008 von pascal laugier (zehn jahre vor seinem letzten film incident in a ghostland) inszenierte martyrs ist zweifellos der umstrittenste französische horrorfilm seines jahrzehnts. abgesehen von der symbolik seines zwecks oder dem hyperrealismus seiner spezialeffekte ist das filmmaterial nur die darstellung einer liebe zwischen zwei freunden in einer zunehmend entmenschlichten gesellschaft. die von den brüdern cortés komponierte musik ergibt sich aus der vision ihres direktors, manchmal kalt und streng, manchmal organisch und sogar melancholisch. der soundtrack endet mit dem berühmten titel your witness mit pop-floydian-akzenten. erstmals ist auch das lied my neighbourhood des komponisten goldmund vertreten. martyrs, der zweite film von pascal laugier nach saint-ange im jahr 2004, ist auch das neueste projekt des maskenbildners benoît lestang (das lebende tote mädchen, die rache der lebenden toten) oder der mitarbeiterin von mylène farmer für sans contrefaçon, giorgino und qi ) wem unser label hier tribut zollt. diese veröffentlichung ist das ergebnis einer mehr als einjährigen engen zusammenarbeit zwischen den brüdern cortés, goldmund und the omega productions records. sie enthält die gesamte partitur auf 150 g vinyl, die sich in einem luxusgatter mit echtem chrom befindet, das von der kalten Ästhetik von pascal laugier abgeleitet ist. mit liner notes von willie cortés.

beware, discomatin is back. in 2018, the parisian crew of diggers and dj�s originally known for their edits goes official with fully licensed and remastered reissues. for this new adventure, they chose an incredible in-demand french boogie ep from diva, an eighties funk band from bordeaux. diva only released one ep with la nuit, a sentimental, almost poetic boogie banger with great synth, guitar and vocal parts. the track could honestly have been a radio hit in the eighties with some real promotion. today, it�s still time to make it right and it is already an anthem in the french underground disco scene. originally on the b side of the 1985 original release on cactus, la nuit is here available with its two different versions (12inch and 7inch mix) and comes also with prise au piege, a more synth-pop influenced funk track which gave its name to the original release. the band was formed by gabrielle andriampanana, alex louisor and olivier renoir. before diva, these last two already played together in the local new-wave band bolton which was one of the first of the area to use synthetisers. even if they had a small recognition at the time, the original release stood quite underground. thanks to discomatin, its now available to the real connoisseurs and still with the fantastic illustrations of french artist camille de cussac on the back cover.

bqd040.1 is a collection of remixes the label released during its early years. back then, the label intended to back up every release with a remix. the rhadoo remix was not just an amazing addition to pherox�s �gabrielle� track, but it was also featured on an ep released with new graphics. buck delivered an amazing interpretation of danilo schneider�s summer track �l�ecole�, that�s still very much a favourite at the label. last but not least, laurine frost�s remix of dana & nvelope�s �flowers�, one of dana�s first released tracks. frost gave the original a rich soundscape an extraordinary vibe. all of these remixes meant something special to the label, and now they�re all here for you to enjoy on one record�
