the second instalment from the bristol based fate and fiction stables follows the v/a ep from ishmael, thrilogy, admin and remotif with a big four tracker from label boss, lee pattison aka thrilogy. again, expect organic, bass heavy, deep house with dusty samples and an acidic, big room, 6am moment in the special the fate also, includes a signed, limited edition (1of 350), pink 12 inch hand-drawn print from bristol artist, anna higgie.

this is a label that i have been meaning to start for years. however, with a possible twist of fate, it is the right time and the perfect body of music to be able to commit to vinyl. these are records that i am honoured to own and play out. a new label from bristol based artist, thrilogy (also known as lee pattison who previously recorded as deepgroove (rekids, cocoon, klang elektronik, junior boys own). expect -organic dusty sampling deep house and techno from bristol artists and friends further afield- and hand-drawn artwork by local artist anna higgie. thrilogy has previously recorded on wolf music, futureboogie and om records and look forward to an ep on omena with an exciting man power remix. also, ishmael finishes the year on a high, his debut album sometime in space (on church records) showcased the multi-instrumentalist s jazzy house cuts alongside peak time techno and chilling ambient pieces. since then ishmael has been touring his live show, as well as releasing some of the most inventive house music to come out of the uk.

this summer path records launches its 2017 campaign with freshly recorded material from reade truths fate 258 moniker. the games with blades ep delivers an epic dose of material once again deeply rooted in the mysteriously seductive sci-fi themes the artist and label are well known for. games with blades visits the dystopian subject matter of the ultra-classic bladerunner and furthers reflection upon its themes of immortality, empathy, and the femme fatale. much like 1999s highly sought digger-classic why 2k this ep provides an enticingly varied mixture of flavors. deep and heavy techno, raw and rhythmic house and funkier electro styled breaks are all on display alongside fate 258s heavy bed of intricate sample-work. path records are leaders in the left field, providing dance floors with unique, conceptual future-classics that sublimely push a futuristic vision.

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.
