given the underground acclaim heaped on marie davidson s previous albums - ultra-stylish affairs that blend elements of minimal wave, dark italo-disco, off-kilter electro and moody ambient - it s little surprise to see her popping up on minimal wave offshoot cititrax. the album s nine tracks are largely sharp, rough and fuzzy, with sparse-but-dense drum machines rhythms underpinning bouncy, delay-laden synth lines, thrusting electronics and davidson s sleazy, spoken word vocals. it s an attractive combination that guarantees thrills throughout, from the almost claustrophobic throb of -denial-, to the mutant electrofunk bounce of -good vibes-.

streetwalker is a collaboration between chicago residents elon katz (white car/hippos in tanks) and beau wanzer (mutant beat dance/l.i.e.s).

located in toronto, forth is a collective of individuals who care deeply about music and its community. having started out throwing diy style raves, they soon became inspired by the city’s hunger for self-expression and the need for a local space that could offer artists a platform for their vision.
with this in mind, the crew present their debut release forth vol. 1 a six-track compilation of some of toronto’s finest talent. calling upon friends and colleagues who represent the diverse underground electronic scene, the compilation features club focused material from ciel (peach discs, diswoman), gingy (clone/royal oak, it’s not u it’s me), r (opal tapes, jericho one), kontravoid (cititrax, fliesch), hadi (forth), and joel eel (forth, x-img).

new york city based further reductions is the live project from husband and wife shawn (aka vapauteen, 400ppm, let er est) and katie o sullivan (aka rose e kross, ppg). back in 2014 they released their gorgeous debut album on cititrax records. the album was an adventurous trip, where they pushed forward a unique sound. after all those years there will be a follow up to this ep on knekelhuis. expect a fusion of different sounds, grimy and pretty at the same time.

de-bons-en-pierre is a project from beau wanzer & maoupa mazzocchetti. beau wanzer spends the majority of his days sifting through paraffin embedded animal tissues and reading old issues of fangoria, occasionally breaking his monotonous routine to record in various fits and bursts. as well as solo material, he is also in numerous projects including streetwalker, mutant beat dance, civil duty, and corporate park. he s released on many labels including, diagonal, l.i.e.s, cititrax, nation, rush hour, and light sounds dark. maoupa mazzocchetti is the pseudonym of florent mazzocchetti, a french producer based in brussels. florent is strictly devoted to a diy mentality around music production and his sound revives the electro-industrial aesthetic of the late 70s and early 80s. hes released notable productions on labels such as unknown precept, prr! prr!, knekelhuis and mannequin records.

known for his past releases on nation, l.i.e.s, and cititrax, chicagos beau wanzer delivers a 12 track lp of archival material culled from tapes stored away from years past, the tracks in question being plucked between 2002-2008. wanzer has stuck to his grotesque guns over the years, keeping his music personal, grating, and down right bizarre. each track takes a narrative of its own, from the languidly vocaled, yet uncannily catchy *mob boss* to the possessed murmurs of *love tone*, wanzer has created a completely unique collection of music which engages the listener all the way through.
