limitierte wiederveröffentlichung des 1996er albums “animal rights” als 180g schwere vinyl edition. bei erscheinen waren die moby fans irritiert, denn statt eines weiteren elektronik-albums wandte sich moby ohne vorwarnung dem alternative und punk-rock zu. in der rückschau passt dieses album jedoch perfekt in seine discographie und harmoniert mit seiner sozialisation und seinem weltbild. auf dem album covert moby mission of burmas thats when i reach for my revolver und entschließt sich nach veröffentlichung mit künstlern wie soundgarden und red hot chili peppers zu touren. auf dem cover ist moby zu sehen, nur zwei wochen alt, in den armen seines großvaters.

his career began in the mid 90s as part of 1st down, which consisted of phat kat on vocals and jay dee on production. the group was short lived however, possibly because of insufficient support/promotion from their label, payday, but the two continued to collaborate on many occasions afterwards, starting with an appearance on fat cat song and its remix, from slum villages fan tas-tic (vol. 1).

two dubbed techno wonders on a coloured 7 platter. lars fenin, born and raised in hamburg has been around the music scene in berlin since the mid 90ties as reggae guitarist/songwriter/live-act/artist/producer/dj. his first experiments in electronic music started in 1998 with some friends in hamburg, followed two years later by his first ep release called &#8243,,,,,herr pitzelberger dreht auf” for the berlin based label shitkatapult. since then fenin has released several eps and albums for his homies shitkatapult as well as 12&#8243,,,,,, s and remixes for labels like echocord, revolver, eintakt and mitek among others. along the years he could boast collaborations with artists such as deadbeat, mikael stavostrand, d-meteo, k.j. gibbs,horace andy, der dritte raum, eraldo bernocchi and jeff milligan. since 2008 he runs also his own label called dock-records. soundwise, fenins productions range from roots reggae/dub pieces to cordish/melodic techno sets and electronic alike soundscapes. the future is unwritten.

7eventhirty and gensu dean. rapper and producer. mello music group stalwarts and jackson, mississippi natives turned dallas denizens. their working together was fated, rooted in shared soil before it was written in indelible ink. with 7eventhirtys sophomore album, the problem, the duo have committed their destined collaboration to wax, giving rap listeners an album that wrestles with the rapidly changing present and carves out a much-deserved space in the forever-uncertain future.

juan macleans happy house gets the remix treatment by lazaro casanova and paul woolford. lazaro casanova, former resident dj at revolver parties for many years, gives an afro-cuban flair to a thick techno style. paul woolfords apocalypse version is a quirky, noisome sizzler.

2010 release by this project from bristol-based musician scott hendy. anyone who has seen the recent bansky documentary exit through the gift shop has likely heard diego & the dissidents though they may not have realized it. an album that almost never saw the light of day, now resurrected just in time to see brilliant tracks such as -contaminated water pt. 4- and others add depth and intrigue to a film already featuring an -against all odds- theme.
