mixed and co-produced by james murphy at dfa studios in brooklyn, this release from former orchid and panthers singer jayson green marks the return of the classic dfa 12. the a-side is a tight, rollicking party jam with maximum konk and loose joints vibes, while the b-side is a true trip to the unknown.

the brabant shrobbelèr is a searing selection of classic and unreleased new beat productions by james leyland kirby aka the caretaker, aka v/vm. it was selected and sequenced by jerk van den boschalottt and mixed and chopped to mucky perfection by miles ov demdike stare, marking up a personally important 5th instalment in our 12 x 12 series, while also providing a fitting headstone to one of kirbys most crucial and little known projects.
single-sided pressing.
the last few years have seen nathan melja really hit his stride, landing on such esteemed labels as mister saturday night, black opal and technicolour with an addictively weird update of the classic boxjam format. now he steps up to inaugurate dream real with three slices of upfront deviant business for all the sleazy dancers out there. there s no arguing with the rubbery bass tones and perfectly processed vocals on the original mix of -jerky teardrop-, but there s also the more wave-minded delights of the -blue mix- version of the track to suit more reflective situations. by way of contrast, -places we belong to- smooths out the mood on the b-side with a low riding slice of boogie that sports just a whiff of indie thrown in for good measure.
never to be pigeonholed, boxed if you will, schroedinger s box has once again come out of hiding (or is that once again became real?) with a new artist of indefinable qualities. steering her way through a busy marketplace of sounds and styles, angela chambers selects from an array of influences. indie. wave. electro. punk. all are present in this six tracker of ambitious proportions. tear jerking give way to emotional bangers, psy-dipped house fades into smoke shrouded experimentation as the listener is lead through a 12- of exotic surprises and out-there ideas.

we finished 2015 with a six-track jumbo ep from borrowed identity and thought we d repeat the same trick for 2016, though this time with originals from okayama-based producer keita sano. eye begins with keep an eye out, pt.2, a propulsive song that sounds like a lost contender for the knight rider theme. own signal keeps things dark, but with a spartan bleakness. the side finishes with smoker, another manic cut that ll give you chills. the flip finds keita exploring brighter sounds without losing that industrial, jagged edge. trmk is essentially a beat track that ll ignite any dance floor and fix is a herky-jerky ditty that ll get you stomping around the club like a possessed reveler. the 12inches cherry on top is think twice, a funky ass-shaker that centers around a crackly sample of crowd noise, a chopped-up disco vocal, and bouncy bass. a fiery finale for this hedonistic party.
teenage jesus and the jerks began to formulate their visionary brand of aural catharsis sometime during the first half of 1977, amidst the sordid ruins of a then fully down-and-out lower manhattan. the mastermind behind this juggernaut of sonic libertinage was a barely pubescent but world-weary runaway who called herself lydia lunch.
nervus viii-i is a compilation of 5 tracks from 3 different artists, squeaky lobster (brussels), jerk (lille), hellboy (denhaag-brussels). nerve system records doesnt like to label the music into genres or put them in boxes, but if we really have to describe it: a mixture of eclectic style, soulful electronica, idm, melodic breakcore & dark, industrial electro.
the dj-duo-team johnas belardinelli & vincenzo busceti are known for their fantastic soulful house partys in switzerland & they always have the right choice of the musically selection during their dj sets. but this is not their only talent as you can hear in this production. «my way» is featured by the fantastic voice of carlos santanas singer tony lindsey, who brings the track to the right level for a purple release
incl bloody beetroots & milan rmxs... a testament to the raw power of a strong system 100 groove. i m happy to report that this track also gets the rare support of rising megastar proxy... for a techno rrecord, that s quite an achievement!
the music of jerk belongs to dirty mornings in sark techno clubs. complex and raw rhythm layers build up into huge mad max scenarios, dusky & coll bass-lines, simple and effective drums and irritating efx form a fucked up and dry sexiness..
