repitch recordings is pleased to present three new tracks from chicagos stave (j. krohn). *after the social* follows an ep on the irish imprint rensmat and lp on chicago based fss. the new ep continues exercises in foundsound, distortion, and repetition, *after the social* introduces a new challenge to the growing stave catalogue. in the same vein as his work with downwards recording duo talker, krohn continues with the drenched dark tones and distorted drums with this repitch release. influences of punk, metal, noise, detroit techno and ambient all combine to form an uneasy mix of melody and rhythm. the legendary downwards boss karl o connor offers a brilliant mix of *hardened chord* — using the original to create a 4/4 path of destruction.

special dub version of mandingos original track, another night on earth. this is an extended alternate version of the original which appears on bc009_909 modern underground v.3. it sounds like a spaced out house groove with some chicago style stabs, jamaica style rubs and detroit style chords. this is a strictly limited one-sided 12 release.

otis is a slightly camp and some might say agressive cat from chicago. he has always liked the old acid house. he has only just found the means to put down his musical ideas, and this is his first offering.

we started the classic series featuring tracks that we love, bought, played out and which we have the feeling more people should know about them. for this first edition, it is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from the chicago house scene: mr k alexi shelby! at the age of 12 he was already moving in the right circles, befriending frankie knuckles and ron hardy whilst frequenting the famous warehouse. his upbringing in chicago in the 70s and 80s meant that he was exposed to a range of genres and different styles of music including stevie wonder, prince, curtis mayfield and david huff. these same names would prove to be the roots of his influences. this projet includes two classic and timeless moments of chicago house & techno music.

raw tools returns with four powerful tracks from the vaults of talented scottish producer stephen lopkin, who already made his vinyl debut with a banging 12” on the mighty m>o>s. chicago flavored beats and acid driven grooves bolted onto detroit rhythms and swirling pads of analog goodness. comes with a special illustration by bucharest artist, silviu andrisoi. limited as always.

arsat is the first argentinian telecom satellite launched into orbit. arsat gets the rocket ready to ignition: a repeated stabs loop manages the take-off with success. on remix duties, up-and-coming argentinian talent julixo delivers a jacking chicago-style interpretation of arsat. with beltran, the rocket starts its launch into space: although fast paced, the track brings some harmonious dubby elements and nice violins in the mix to calm down the expecting crowd: it s all going to be ok. formula ends the e.p. like a celebration of the satellite s geostationnary slot: a hard hitting, percussion driven, techno track where the stabs penetrate deep under your skin. not for the faint hearted!

nicolas jaar has shared a new track from chicago ghetto house/juke veteran dj slugo. its called ghetto, and it was produced by jaar. thats it above via other people. according to jaar, it was made in light of recent events.

armando gallop, the legendary chicago producer & dj whose career was tragically cut short by his death in 1996 left behind a legendary reputation as one of the windy citys finest. having released on seminal labels such as, trax, musique, westbrook and his own warehouse imprint, armando brought his own rough hewn brand of machine funk and acid to the table and the dance music world has been much better off for it since.
