although rico puestel has been producing since 2005, he still seems to be something of an insider tip. since caravel though, his august release on cocoon recordings, things have taken a dramatic turn with puestel currently enjoying man of the moment status, especially when it comes to progressive techno and peak time action on the dance floor.

extrawelt are back! although in fairness, they were never gone. on the contrary, since their first release on james holdens border community label dropped in 2005, arne schaffhausen and wayan raabe have been responsible for a plethora of classics including schöne neue extrawelt and in aufruhr, their two seminal albums on cocoon recordings. the duo are one of the most booked live acts worldwide, commanding a huge fan base. their performances are the stuff of legend, making them the absolute highlight at every club and festival they play.

finally, the long awaited third part of the extrawelt trilogy on cocoon recordings is on the way, and with this advance 12inch release of fear of an extra planet (blackout) and hail the whale we are given an incredibly strong first impression of extrawelts third album. fear of an extra planet (blackout) in particular, has the potential to become a monumental club hit.

please welcome frankfurts very own einzelkind as the latest addition to our artist pool. his first single 12inch contribution for cocoon recordings seems to be endless and gets nicely spiced up with hypnotic vocal elements and discoide space sounds. free savioni already made the terrace floor on one of our cocoon ibiza nights move big time. it actually had such a strong impact that we immediately had to sign it after einzelkind played it! aya curanderito on the flip side sounds like a late night party deep in the forest witch trolls dancing around a fire, this is deep shamanic business with a slight villalobos touch (no wonder as the two joined forces before for some other releases already). cool and trippy, something for the long nighs at the infamous robert johnson club or berlins panoramabar. welcome se±or einzelkind!

the cocoon recordings very own inhouse compilation series dots and pearls is back once again and takes us on a tour to the expected sounds of the upcoming spring season. frankfurt based christian burkhardt starts the selection of four exclusive and previously unreleased tracks. his -karambolage- breathes spring air and creates an early summer feeling par excellence. this tune will even turn gray and rainy april weather into bright sunlight. on spot with playful and positive harmonies and a very subtle 80 s synthie-pop flavour. this one here definitely makes us want more! next in line is argy, one of our most long standing cocoon recordings artists. his -how late it was, how late- has an undeniable 80s retro charm, too however it follows a completely different direction than burkhardts -karambolage-. this one refers strongly to an early 80s acid sound and reminds us of great productions such as -on and on- by jesse saunders. we cannot tell how far argy s reminiscences goes back but for the ones who know: -how late it was, how late- will bring you back to the great times of labels like rams horn and their rational youth s -dancing on the berlin- wall. brave and surprising at the same time and above all: -übercool-! with -baroon- by markus fix follows another acid track - however, this one has a far more epic flavour full of warm analogue strings and based on a hypnotic arrangement. fix -baroon- is defintely less retro than argys and burkhardts contributions - a deep tech house gem made for the first sunrises of the upcoming allnighter open airs. with -euphrasia- jim jules accelerates slightly but goes also deeper at the same time. his production follows the cinematic mood of markus fix but paints a darker picture. this one takes us on an intensive musical journey. deep, slightly gloomy and extremely hypnotic, -euphrasia- is almost captivating and bewitching and a perfect conclusion for this highly diversified fourtracker.

rico puestel is in charge for our cocoon recordings 144th release. rico is an producer animal who released more than 100 tracks & remixes since 2005 under various project names such as dinamoe, central scrutinizer and of course under his main moniker rico puestel. the enormous amount of productions shaped ricos knowledge and taste and his new cocoon release neyst and enokid seems to be the logical result of his long journey through the techno-universe. puestels style is very unique and merges elements of dark and hypnotic mainfloor techno as well as orchestral sounds and even industrial elements. neyst is the perfect hypnotic and dark techno circle that keeps on progressing and building up into sheer madness. no fast food, no leightweight, this is heavy techno business! enokid comes with a little more of a chicago house vibe however it is again still deep in puestels very own style. we especially fancy the crazy break in the middle with the spaced out room effect part and the melody coming in after the break. as stompy and musclepacked this track is, it still seems to be very musical and deep at the same time - what a trip! this one demands a good and proper sound system, well what other cocoon release doesnt?

ilario alicante is back on the track and he simply beats the shit out us! the italian techno maestro presents a stronger than strong release that defines the alicante-sytle in pure perfection. the extreme detroit flavoured alicante double pack tracker comes with remixes by adventice and mark broom. alicantes originals “virgo storm” and “hypno” are based on a massive and masculine beat programming and wave the “purpose maker” and “axis” flag like no other of his releases so far. this is heavy material - this feeds rob hood and jeff mills fans and we can see and hear alicantes admiration for the underground resistance back catalogue here! adventice (dj deep & romain poncet) remix for “virgo storm” follows this direction however it leaves out the manic synth elements and incorporates even more peaktime-floor-action-sounds that have only one message: total dancefloor madness! mark brooms remix for “hypno” introduces a very cool but deep-dark and filtered organ-bassline which gives his remix an even more hypnotic touch in contrast to the cheeky and nasty original by ilario alicante. this 4-track-package proofs that good and solid techno is still fresh and alicante leaves a major footprint with this release! play this loud and drive your speakers to the edge, azzurro alicante is back on cocoon recordings!

cocoon recordings is back with another limited 10inch edition! scotsman vince watson and frankfurt cocoon family member frank lorber are in charge for our latest baby and with no exageration we feel this is going to be one of this years highlights! although hailing from erskine in scotland and meanwhile residing in amsterdam speaker freaker by vince watson appears like a detroit house gem in perfection! this is planet e, this is electronic art, this is a deeper than deep tech-house-lovers delight! if you missed the high times of detroit techno maester vince watson beams you straight back to it - however not without adding up to date soundscapes and frequencies. you might guessed it already and we have to admit: we really fell in love with this one… big time!

cocoon recordings presents a freaked out deep techno highlight by two masters of their craft: gregor tresher & petar dundov! especially the a-side spike is a crazy monster and we do not exaggerate by writing that we have never heard something like this by these two masterminds before. mental, hypnotic and with a neverending synth firework that modulates with an endless release effect. the two really pushed electronic dance music at least ten steps further. tresher & dundov second mutual work on cocoon recordings follows with differentiator. the two stick to the basic concept of spike however this time it is the good old arpeggio that keeps on modulating until eternity. differentiator almost flows with a little trance appeal and there is even a cool and driving acid bassline giving us the final push. tresher & dundov present us two massive techno tunes that will definitely play in their own league this season!

product comes with deluxe hot foil stamping print in a gatefold cover! electrica salsa, revisited 30 years later, remixes by roman flügel and henrik schwarz. france, italy, austria, germany, quite precisely thirty years ago, one electronic track turned the european music charts upside down: electrica salsa by the frankfurt project off - a collective producing their tracks at master music studio. the founders of organisation for fun were no underdogs: michael münzing and luca anzilotti would go on as duo snap! and write global hits like the power or rhythm is a dancer, writing pop history. and the third member of off was then 21-year-old sven väth, today one the most notorious international djs. michael and luca were the masters of equipment, responsible for the mixing desk and the recording tape we used to make the master tapes. i was the one providing song ideas, grooves and bringing a good mood to the studio.

irishman brendan gregory aka chymera has become an integral part of the international club scene. this techno and house productions are based on his skilful way to incorporate different styles and genres such as minimal techno and even the trance, which leads to a very own and surpreme handwriting. like his mentor and friend funk dvoid or like his fellow cocoon recordings colleague tim green, chymera appears to one of the few artists who can be assigned to a very own and recognizable sound.

after the first ricardo tobar remix edition (featuring remixes by john tejada and fairmont) on cocoon recordings we are proud to present the next chapter with remixes by lawrence and midnight operator (mathew and nathan jonson). 2016 seems to continue as we started it: with high quality music by great artists presenting us amazing techno in an unique and tasty style. midnight operator, the joint project of the two jonson brothers, picked tobars angora for their remix and the result appears very fresh and housey. their bassline programming adds a nice italo-disco vibe to their version of angora.

cor12138 presents three previously unreleased tracks taken from the * dots & pearls 3* mix-cd (cormix052 mixed by daniel stefanik). the exclusive three tracker starts with the concept by waveshape - an extremely powerful club tune that demands a very good sound system to deliver its full potential.

daniel stefanik is back on the track and it seems even stronger than ever before! after his cocoon album release confidence and the associated remixes (by mr. g, adam port, legowelt and matthias kaden) stefanik presents a true tech-house-monster as a dignified return to the label. with twilight zone stefanik moves away from his detroit influenced background but stays true to his oldskool flavoured vibe.

the summer heat is still on our minds and we all do miss the sunny days, the beaches and the endless open air parties… thanks sascha dive for the right soundtrack and this summer flashback: dives new release for cocoon beams us back to the high days of the summer of 2015: especially into the woods seems to be the perfect sound for all these deeply missed summervibes. into the woods is a pristine tech-house production that comes with a cool straight forward beat programming, very nice reverse strings-sounds and hypnotic house chords. a nicely flavoured chicago club housefeeling and exactly how we like it! werewolf appears slightly more spaced out, however we are still deep in the house universe here. dive is pushing it a bit harder now - he uses crazy chord sounds and turns the track into an 11 minutetech house journey. after the summer flashback with into the woods this one beams us definitely more into the darker and hotter inner city clubs. a massive tech-house-striker by the diver and we are proud to say it is one of his strongest works so far!
