ooh yess! shadowfax starts the new year with a monster ep! dj dandi e ugo are 2 italian producers with a huge fanbase in their home country. having releases on lasergun, great stuff and stereoseven, these boys are experienced artists. their skills result in a series of highly functional tracks, handcrafted from a minimum of digital input. dandi e ugo create a solid groove with huge amount of funk, these tracks contain all the right ingredients for the masses! this gigantic 4-tracker will definitely blow up every dance floor around the world!

minefield e.p. is the second real soon release by dublin-based italian producer leopoldo rosa (aka lerosa). on this 4-track ep leo brings us more of his warm, loose-limbed, us-influenced, abstract house experiments and, on the snappy title track minefield, refers back to his earlier electro sound. whatever the style, leo has a distinctive touch and a refreshingly simple, unpretentious production style - letting the machines do their business with the minimum of fuss. leo has started to build a strong reputation over the past two years with a series of excellent releases on real soon, enclave recordings, a touch of class, uzuri and millions of moments and has recently entered the live arena - look out for him in a club near you

ziggy kinders last outing on souvenir proved to be one of the highlights of 2007. bailamos, a record destined to make love to the converging worlds of european techno and south american latin music was hailed by artists like laurent garnier, koze and mike shannon for its mysterious melodies and enveloping percussion while the a-side que pasa maria was championed by anja schneider and radioslave. fans of tiefschwarzs daring souvenir imprint will be in no doubt as to what lies in store for the label’s tenth release. >flipflop crash< is another typically ziggy workout destined for a discerning international dancefloor. disorientating percussion and flanging effects dance around an insistent throbbing bassline while a female vocal whispers in french. the warm melodies layering the track hint at the sultriness of >bailamos< , but this is a continuation not a revisitation and an impressive step forward for ziggys sound. on the flip chilean star pier bucci takes up the remix reigns. after impressing with his ahead-of-its-time familia lp on crosstown rebels in 2005 and last years club bomb hay consuelo, his addition to the souvenir roster is another memorable recruitment with current label remix talents including artists like carl craig, tiefschwarz, shonky, samim, kiki & silversurfer and radioslave. his interpretation adds an injection of urgency to ziggys original, stripping the vocals back to a minimum to make way for an epic delay soaked synth hook. its a remix destined for the end of a night or that perfect plateau of a party when the dancefloor has been moving for hours waiting for a hypnotising melody such as this to sweep it onto another level

old schoolish banging techno tracks on this young german label focussing on no-nonsense timeless techno tracks. tis ep has some strong robert hood influenced tracks produced by this tresor resident dj from berlin... so no surprise to hear some influences of the good basic channel people mixed with sounds from the motorcity

supported by tomaz, dean facer, dave twomey, estroe… de/bug 06/07: >a quite poppy house monster incl. fresh melodies and relentless digging groove< (5 points). *smile!* is the labels first release since its relocation from frankfurt to berlin: in a style which is typical for good groove, a deep and funky sequence, packed with short vocal samples, densifies further and further to finally reach its peak by means of some choral subbass within the tracks last third, absolutely providing positive vibes to the listener. repeatedly and successfully tested live by co-producer yapacc, it was obvious to bring the dub-mix on vinyl, reduced to a minimum: here the vocals have been cut down to single snippets by yapacc, the *master of digital scissors*, to create sort of a brand-new language

par grindvik has turned out to be an expert in stripping techno tracks to bare minimum, without these loosing power of groove. par has already worked with newcomer linzatti on his label and now the boys team up once again for the rotterdam based shadowfax !!

as a coproducer of jennifer cardini he could already rest on some laurels, but he still has own plans. after a lonesome 12inch on freak n chic this likeable party terrorist, not goes free of charge with paris anarchos like dj:terry: co-operates, now to the attack. sub static presents two properly psychedelic minimum racketeers as they could hardly fall out more individualistically.correctly fitted with spring beats deliver the through ball for precisely placed schizo chords and who is still responsible there, has missed the takeoff. hypnotically the sounds mill themselves by the bodies and hatch behind the diaphragm, only to press ahead at the right moment like alien out of ripley. techno, how he raves and dances. to one howls, yesyes

on this album joakim deals with many mysterious moods nostalgic interludes carvernous basslines as well as twisted synth gimmicks chopped vocoders and surprising breaks this is the kind of stuff that once heard will haunt you and your life

a grooved monster that balances dark bass against soulful vocals and a sound scape of nifty synth work, with great results. the flip side strips the vocal to a bare minimum leaving a quality dub that concentrates on the beats and synths. can you cope with this? we sure hope so!

repress…stunning chicago - techno double vinyl album

we are extremely excited to announce our second double disk compilation retrospect on mood series! in 2020 and 2021, greyscale was full steam ahead on bringing new music to the cherished discography. in fact, in 2020, greyscale released over 20 eps just on the mood series itself! something we are very proud of and we wish to thank all the artists who have been involved up to this point. a hearty thank you from all at greyscale! as 2021 came we wanted to balance that out with a few retrospectives of the journey. and also, to revisit the cd format which we really enjoy doing compilations on. this installment looks back at mood series 21 thru 40 with a track from each ep! we hope this encourages you to check back with each original ep if you may have missed it and also to revisit some of your favorites. we would like to thank our supporters for being there to share the enjoyment and the excitement in what we are doing. your feedback has been tremendous and we want you to know we have many exciting and new projects coming (including some different ideas we are trying for the first time!).

samuel rohrer, the multi-faceted, forward-thinking percussio- nist and producer behind the arjunamusic label, the ambiq trio and a wealth of other musical projects, has set out on his own with a new full-length solo album range of regularity as a double ep set with a deceptive title if ever there was one: the sonic experience of this record is, in fact, a highly irregular one (and a highly welcome one at that). constructed almost entirely upon electronically-treated recordings of acoustic in- strumentation, with a bare minimum of synthesizer voicing, ror vibrates with a compelling organicism as if old-growth black forest trees had conspired together to make an album of ultra-modern improvisational music. indeed, the record feels limned with contributions from some other intelligence, despite being a clear extension of the fluid, percussion-driven musical technique that rohrer has exhibited in previous years.

arran was doing a photography course when she joined the band, and at her first rehearsal she brought along a notebook. written on it was dark room notes. we had gone through numerous terrible names, and felt this was one we could settle on. we were lucky she wasnt doing a knitting course. >we love you dark matter< was recorded in a live setting as such, keeping over dubs to a minimum.
