long time minimal techno pusher franklin de costa steps up to jersey city label green village to thrown down a ruckus with four serious cuts of advanced house and techno. -derp journal- may be flippant in name, but the bassline it packs is not to be trifled with, nor the edgy drums and lashings of reverb. -bogart space- is a more house-minded affair, but it s still reaching to a contemplative space using unfamiliar sounds. -good day bad day- gets into a cyclical, psychedelic mood thanks to a trippy synth circling overhead, but then the ep gets dealt a tough finishing blow by the cranked up hustle of -flashmelo-, coming on like a crunchy mid 00s minimal jam of the highest order.

the table has been set and guests have arrived: it’s time for fresh meat’s when bad people cook good food vol. 4. this limited edition vinyl sampler features three tracks from the full length digital album. the record leads with derrick carter, dubbing out alexander east’s “jest 4 me” into a signature boompty romp. on a2, audio soul project takes a swing at remixing chris udoh’s “ready for you-, shuffling and strengthening the groove that supports the invigorated vocal. the entire b-side belongs to david duriez who marries acid motifs to the tidy, bustling frame of san france disco’s “bringing back sweat to the dancefloor” for even sweatier times. this three track ep is mastered by lawrie at curve pusher, london - who’s been busy lately putting his magic touch on music for artists like damian lazarus, jamie jones, and wolf + lamb. each copy of the vinyl sampler for when bad people cook good food vol. 4 comes with a download code for the full 16 track digital album. this latest fresh meat is a veritable feast of sleek and buoyant house music that can enjoyed over several sittings or in one cohesive (and delightfully gluttonous) meal.

paxton fettel intrinsically invites you to the very core of his soul with mana, a heart wrenching ode to suave and unassuming house music. real instruments and penetrating decisiveness serve an emotionally rendered piece of the blues, perpetually enticing mood binding empathetic maneuvers. paxton orchestrates feeling with musicality well beyond the average clique, despairing yet hopeful, slickly jazzed and upfront drumming produce a mad example of what he is capable of pulling off/straight out of copenhagen we get treated to yet another fine instance of a paxton fettel classic with they go unseen.

the good the bad the ugly the evil is a full on and brandnew 4 track ep from our cologne artist roland m. dill. roland has worked here with a stronger live-set up resulting in tracks more organic. developing from within rather than being developed, the tracks seem to have a stronger hypnotic edge to them. according to the titels the track all show diffferents characteristic. starting with the evil this track is not very obvious but works very much by itself, whereas the good is a perfect intermezzo for djs who really build up their sets with a lot of skill. the ugly is a mental track... it has stunts, it screams, it sees no end... this is mandness on the highest level and also the bad is written in this veain.
