south terminus gets you warmed up with a shuffle rhythm but a mean frizzling acidic synth line like a steel whip and a nervously knocking percussive sounds punch the rhythm more and more into a straighter pattern - when the tune finally falls into a 4/4 beat after the break and the acid line completely bubbles over its pure mayhem. 'clubbanger' on the b-side gets underneath your skin more subtely: headbangin tech-boogie with suspensefull, slightly claustrophobic string backings and robotic voice snippets. label head clement opts in his remix for a punk-funk slant with cool dangling bassline and snotty rhyhtm guitar wrapped up in foggy synth sounds
break 3000 and adam kroll take quite some chances in naming their first collaboration 'get down' cause in the golden era of funk and disco every second track that was produced to 'just' get people on the went by this title ( a quick namecheck on allmusic.com confirms close to 300 entries ). well, our two protagonists surely had a few of those blueprints in mind as they clearly quote some of the main characterisitcs - handclaps, pulsating moroder style bassline, extra thick slap bass, robotic voice - mix them up with a few drops of acid, a rough guitar riff plus majestic paino chords and distill everything to a luiquid, sleek state-of-the-art house funker. the flip is more introspective and very atmospheric with darker, moody chords, yet the galloping square bassline and the omnipresent sharp highlight make sure that 'tonite' theres no parking on the dancefloor. when the players arrivea the club...beware

berlin minimal house hero dave dk (highgrade, television, mÜller, tresor, raum...musik and many more) delivers 2 tracks of utter funkiness with his trademark digitised yet warm ultra funk sound. 'jus suckas' starts with bouncy bass joining forces with squirts of cut-up style percussion rumbling its way before the chord stylee strings attack with added sample-vox. great groover we say. 'this is not a problem' goes more sinister and dark afterhours with rolling bass and machine style groove and which makes you wanna drop that **** before dominating synth lines hits the g-spot and you are already teleported to another level. hott

nice tribal funk groover with a nice bluesy guitar and sax loop and a male voice in position of a storyteller on a side flipside with a funky vocal new mix and dubb version
a three track serving of some tasty tech-tribal funk. nothing but jamming dancefloor flavors on this one, setting things off with the cut-up funk/b-boy stomper 'backside bump' and the bass-happy hypnotic grooves of 'midas touching'. on the flip the dark and driving west coast vibe of 'you do all that' fits perfectly in with the classic casa sound: a stark tech-house groover thatll satisfy all the mastik soul/gideon jackson fans out there. scintillating stuff from the casa boys
