music man records is proud to present the long awaited second mix-cd from marcel dettmann, resident at the notorious berghain club in berlin since even before it was called like that, and one of the key artists on their label ostgut ton. marcel dettmanns previous mix-cd was named best mix-cd of 2008 by resident advisor. last year he released his debut album dettmann to high critical acclaim. in the meantime he s also building the profile of his own label mdr, and of course he stays one of the most in demand remixers around. the tracklist of conducted includes again a mixture of new to be discovered talents, old to be re-discovered gems, and a few usual suspects, such as sandwell district, redshape or shed. conducted is a timeless mix from one of the most important players in todays techno scene.

analogue cops >chamber< is a strong dark track in which a massive 808 drum explosion runs together with an ultra-pitched down voice sample. rushing percussions, piercy hi-hats, a breathless progression. an experiment which turns into a solid club tack.
on side b, >still me< represents lucretios vocation to neoclassicism. the time disappears and a gospel organ full of motown reminiscences reminds the most soulful works appeared on planet earth. dramatic and sweet, its evocative and hopeful. lucretios track on rst006 appears on tama sumos >panorama bar – mix cd<.
>mauzy< is marieus deepest track on restoration. beat-down smashing 909 drums, punchy snares, delightful piano chords, sharp cymbals, a praising voice. a track for a spiritual elevation, a track to dance until the last second. a track to listen to a million of times.

the seventh release of restoration records is the celebration of the love between men and machines. sykon is true joy and happiness, it s the speech of the synthesizers, it s the passion for hardware samplers and sequencers, it s the addiction to the juicy sound of tape compression. as usual, no computer has been involved in the production of this record.
ôyes, the 4th dimensionö, by eduardo de la calle is a masterpiece of hermetic theories applied to advanced minimal techno. it s mental and involving, deep and solid. hi-tech reduced synthesized sound build up a never ending progression upon the strictness of its low tom layer. mystical energy tthat will kidnap everybody on the dancefloor.
in marieu s ôrootsö, you can hear all the trademarks of the boss of the label. dark, hypnotic and pumping, it developes a bouncing double bass line that breaks the atmosphere with an aggressive 808 kick. acid and funky at the same time, it s simply a time bomb.
on side b, lucretio s ôwhere youö is a superb synthesis of his detroit techno and uk-garage influences. relentless effective old-school drums run with a female vocal sample. soulful chords sing along balistic claps. an evocative string line introduces a touch of blues. a sweet sunset on the groove, a smooth weapon.
last but not least, a touch of class by the analogue cops: ôslowlyö. it s a down beat fusion of jazz and deep house. a monumental bass drum bursts a celestial big band interlude. a sexy 303 acid line, an elegant high-hat, a snappy snare. just few things but on the right place. a delight for your mind and for your body.
