harbour city 2014. sometimes people from different environmental backgrounds cross paths with one another through similar interests, and they notice that they have more in common then a certain taste in music alone. boris bunnik (aka conforce) is hailing from the small scenic dutch island terschelling, that can be seen as the complete opposite environmental background as the dirty streets of rotterdams south side that drew the first guidelines for frustrated funks watchword: mad drama from everyday life.

while nowadays underground music hits are being selected and pushed through applications that analyze and calculate the amount of followers, friends, likes, hits, posts and traffic on social media, music is getting more and more isolated from its original function, being prostituted by companies that dont even listen to the actual content itself.

boris bunnik goes under many aliases. numerous smaller projects, some huge faceless projects but mostly known and well respected for his conforce project. as versalife he found his way to the clone familia for his night time activities project, and around this same period we just managed to pull out the best suitable tracks for frustrated funk. versalife is electro-techno in its purest form. deep and intense analog rhythms with crisp percussion patterns slightly touching the more experimental side of things. this ep is a nice balanced mixture of industrial drone material to more classic sounding electro with versalifes own signature strength. highly recommended as always!

frustrated funks limited vinyl series drops another crazy slice of experimental electro wax. gary kempston, brother of clatterbox, and co-owner of the z-bop label has been on frustrated funks to-do list for a long time.we have been running his music though the frustrated funk quality control for some years and now the time is right to drop this amazing collection of tracks. goliath has his own fresh and unique sound palette and his music is miles away from anything else.all nicely packed,highly limited hand stamped and numbered colored vinyl. grab one before its gone!

next up on frustrated funks limited vinyl series is italian producer and visual artist federico leocata. this young producers sound aesthetics can easily be compared with dataphysix style of production with its snappy, minimal and dark characteristics (who knows what their real connection might be). but when looking a bit further federico manages to create a world of its own where unpleasant, obscure and sinister sounding tracks bring you in a dark imaginary world of ropes, burning leather and foggy torture chambers. this is the second ff release in this series of limited hand numbered and hand stamped colored vinyl 12s.first come first serve.

santiago salazar (dj s2) from underground resistance, los hermanos, galaxy 2 galaxy and ican productions fame found a new home for his finest slide tracks. the ur projects ingredients are a pure analogue electro-techno-funk hybrid with slip and sliding samples and topped off with tweaked 303s for good measure. frustrated funk now releases 4 of s2s best slide tracks from the period 2007-2010. so, put your skates on, get on the floor and get ready to slide and bounce to this absolutely amazing ep. we cant get enough of this!
