after dropping his “can’t remember / talking to you” ep, his debut solo release for dfa, last summer, austrian musician and producer wolfram eckert returns with a stellar four-tracker for kim ann foxman s firehouse imprint. his new offering, a track called “united 707”, finds wolfram in fine form, delivering an infectious jam that makes us want to jump in his ’80s vw scirocco for a late-night ride around new york. the release comes backed with remixes by simoncino and legowelt! pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl, housed in a full colour sleeve, limited to 500 copies worldwide.

i did the this beat is talking to you (club mix) at my parents house in my old kinderzimmer. i forgot to take my blood pressure pills back then so maybe thats the reason it sounds like that.

wolfram says: i started to record the track cant remember when i was in africa and some riots happened in egypt in 2013. it was a weird time so it turned out to be a dark tune with robotic vocals. i recorded the vocals for the track talking to you when i was on tour with andy butler in the hotel room on my macbook air. basically its him saying this beat is talking to you and i recorded some burp sounds on the flight and train home. i invited him to my home studio to change the demo vocals, but he felt asleep on the chair next to me. so, i thought maybe i should just the use the demo macbook vocals.

>fireworks< ist die erste single aus dem fantastischen debüt-album von wolfram aus wien. der hinreißende disco-song mit kapitalem pop-appeal wird von niemand geringerem als andy butler und kim ann foxman von hercules & love affair gesungen - einmal im ohr, für immer im herzen! mit andy butler verbindet den wiener eine langjährige freundschaft. die remixe kommen allesamt aus schweden, nämlich von axel moman (pampa records) sowie tiedeye (italians do it better), die >fireworks< auch gleich noch in balearic rock-manie gecovert haben.

here is the exclusive limited japanese pressing of this record which was already charted number 1 in aeroplane charts and played at pete tong@bbc1. and the skatebard mix of it already got licensed after beeing played atpanoramabar to a well known label so dont sleep on this limited japanese piece since the official announced pressing on diskokaine will not come out anymore maybe because those diskokaine freaks got bought out or thecontract doesnt allow it? anyway, we dont care because we have this special release of it.
