after kicking off in some style, max d. blas and alex piccini s monologue label follows up with a second sizzling release, this time from yaya & lorenzo chiabotti. the first monologue release received great feedback from the likes of villalobos, raresh and matthew dear amongst others, and yaya and chibotti, fire out three original cuts here, that also come with a remix from robert dietz that ensures this is another massive package.

following the big success of the tmng001 catalogue, label-head yaya strikes back on his own label with another wicked release. his second ep called ‘unconditional love’ also features the first tamango remixer ever and we’re more than proud to have ‘panorama bar’ lady cassy on board. the ep kicks off the things with entitled ‘unconditional love’ which features yaya’s typical trademark groove with some extra great tribal-drums contaminations combined with a great caribbean-oriented female chant, giving life to a proper dancefloor burner. a2 is about cassy. she has been into the music industry since 2003 when she moved to berlin and she’s fresh of her latest album ‘donna’ on ‘aus music’ last year. she provides a beautiful and heavier interpretation of ‘unconditional love’, adding crisp percussions and pure analogic spatial pad, creating a dreamlike dimension surrounded by the massif utilization of pitched endless vocals. the b-side contains the dub version of ‘unconditional love’ for the ones who need a precise and outspoken tool without the vocal part. closing the ep is ‘lone wolf’ which is the prove to dispel any doubt on yaya’s producing skills: the track immediately approaches into softer sonority with nimble analogic and syncopated synths and rapid drums, with hi-hats and shakers only, for another tamango unmissable chapter.

tamango records is the fresh newborn imprint from berlin founded by yaya. the name is inspired on the story of tamango, the first african slave who fought for his freedom, which perfectly represents the no-boundaries style of the label.

some notorious electronic music talents have started their careers as percussionists. and so did yaya, but his tale is different to all the rest. his new release for desolat takes a unique, upbeat approach to 4/4 beats: combining heartfelt benin influences - samples from dialogue and traditional ballads - with the stretched-out tension and release of balearic and the bubbling pops and stutters of tech house, plus the occasional kickback to a commodore64 high score melody. raised in turin, italy, rhythm was his lifeblood for yassin legali, also known as yaya, from an early age. his father was the lead vocalist and percussionist for mbamina, a band consisting of musicians from benin, zaire, italy and cameroon. mbamina released eight albums, collaborated with artists like manu dibango and salif keita, were sponsored by paco rabanne and played all over africa, including a show for the presidents of senegal and france. their final show was with james brown in paris in 1985 - the year yaya was born. well-versed in his fathers legacy, yaya grew up playing drums and djembe, and at the age of 15, began performing as a percussionist in turin clubs. just one year later, he was already djing, playing funk, soul, afrobeat, house and garage. manu dibango and fela kuti found a spot in his crate next to records by masters at work and dimitri from paris: contrasts of rhythm and structure that pervade his music to this very day.

following the success of their last release, xandrus >fading dreams ep<, which enjoyed notable support from (arpiar) stalwart rhadoo, nastia, anthea and yaya, to name but a few, vinyl only imprint ldn will return to the shelves in early december with their third 12inch installment. this time around label boss scott kemp will be providing the goods, in the form of a four track ep, aptly named >1988<, the year of scott s naissence. featuring three exquisite original tracks accompanied by a sublime remix from romanian producer nu zau, scott kemps years of experience honing his productions skills are laid bare from start to finish, as he continues to assert his affinity for stripped back, percussive driven techno with this pulsating composition. the ep debuts with >1988<, which feels evocative with its atmospheric vibe and slower pace, coupled with its deep bass, hypnotic synths and spacey sounds. in contrast, >konman< is more alert and its dynamic rhythm invariably encourages one to dance, as the latter part of the track welcomes warm and bouncy synths, complimentary to its percussive elements.
