new label from belgium with veteran dj trish who has a great reputation in her home country. first release on this new label drops a hot track that obviosuly is inspired by the sounds of the motorcity detroit. original version is a energetic building track with a great hookline and a staccato drive that stands out. the remixes by orlando voorn and klaina add some playfulness and changed the rhythmic structure. this first release comes in a small batch of 200 records stamped and hand written info text.

trish van eynde has agreed to bless subject detroit with her soulful detroit techno tunes on this first subject belgium release. all tracks are amazing, she really put her soul into this release. respect !!

children of alice produzieren seit 2013 als teil des folklore-tapes-kollektivs amorphe und berauschende klanglandschaften und fassen nun alle ihre werke in einem selbstbetitelten debütalbum zusammen. die band markiert die post-broadcast-Ära von james cargill, den name wählte er als tribut an die verstorbene broadcast-sängerin trish keenan, für die “alice im wunderland” - speziell in der adaption des britischen theaterregisseurs jonathan miller als 1960’er sommeridylle - wegweisende inspiration war. neben cargill gehören der ehemalige broadcast-keyboarder roj stevens und julian house aka the focus group, mitbegründer von ghost box records, zum trio. letzterer veröffentlichte zusammen mit broadcast bereits 2009 das minialbum “broadcast & the focus group investigate witch cults of the radio age”. beide formate erscheinen im mirri board packaging (stabiler, hochglänzender spiegelkarton). die lp enthält neben einem download-code noch eine miniposter.

the skokie intruder ep is the first ever release by the french / american producer royer. his productions reflect astounding sampling skills and a penchant for detroit style grit and groove. skokie intruder was mastered and cut by helmut erler at dubplates and mastering and will be a hand stamped red label in edition of 300. featured on the release is a remix by brian leeds (huerco s., royal crown of sweden) under a new alias: independence ave. orchestra.

die 18 stücke auf the only she chapter sind weitaus mehr zeitgenössische kompositionen als beats & loops-tracks. sie beginnen wie der titel auch alle mit the only... und featuren insgesamt 7 sängerinnen, darunter zola jesus, shara worden (my brightest diamond), niki randa (school of seven bells, flying lotus), sowie die bezaubernde, jüngst verstorbene trish keenan (broadcast). obwohl das album konzeptionell strukturiert ist, wurde der musikalische wandteppich eher unorthodox gewoben - ein effekt, der durch die unterschiedlichen herangehensweisen der sängerinnen noch verstärkt wird. mit the only she chapters gelingt es herren, eigene klischees und bisher erlerntes zu überspringen und seine horizonte und Ästhetik zu erweitern.
