musica techno para discoteca is the new series from oaks. in it i’ll showcase the techno music that inspires me, the techno music that i love to play, the techno music that in my opinion should get a decent exposure due it’s originality and honesty. without paying attention to the market demand or industry standards.

originally released in a limited edition of 500 copies in 1982 monoton’s second album ‘monotonprodukt 07’ is now a collector item and also one of the most important album of all-time. it has been voted one of the 100 best records by highly influential uk magazine the wire. monoton was founded in 1979 by hypermedia wizard konrad becker as an art project that underwent various transformations and collaborations in its exploration of psycho-active sound. a pioneer in experimental electronic music, becker continued to break new ground in electronic media. monotonprodukt 07 has been reissued on vinyl by desire (and is still available as a double picture-discs limited to 500 copies. it’s the first time ever that tracks from the album are remixed and desire is proud to had such great artists/producers as us prositutes, svengalighost with fellow partner and l.i.e.s. boss and hospital productions artist ron morelli. the last remix is the work of great mancunian duo rainer veil (modern love). an incredible remix package that do justice to this classic album ! mastered by matt colton at alchemy.

sven wegner hat es wieder getan! nachdem sein letztes release eher verträumt war, schmeisst er uns nun eine sommergranate vor die füsse, um die tanzflächen zum explodieren zu bringen. elegant, deep, verspielt, hüpftauglich, groovigste vocals und er hält sich nicht lange auf mit irgendwelchen aufbauten. er fällt über dich her, du denkst, das ist schon der hauptteil des tracks und bumm, setzt er noch einen darüber. wäre der track nicht so elegant hätte ich jetzt angst vor trommelwirbeln und ähnlichen no-gos, aber sven entäuscht uns nicht. zusammen mit dem ebenfalls extrem tanzbaren frank-martiniq-remix ein echter sommerhit!

eigentlich kennt man kanzler & wischnewski für ihren soliden techhouse, mit ihrer neuen veröffentlichung schlagen sie nunmehr ganz andere töne an.mit der ep >keep on dancing< gehen sie diesmal etwas housiger zur sache. was aber nicht bedeutet, dass sie weniger groovt.dafür sorgen alleine schon die ausgewählten remixe zur ep. mike walls interpretation kommt wie gewohnt technoid daher,michel lauriola aus buenos aires gibt seinerseits ein bisschen südliches flair dazu und der wirklich gelungene remix von klangwelt3000 rundet diese schöne ep ab.
