wie es scheint sind alle begeistert von santa cruz track mais uma chance, einem der herausragenden songs auf der letzten too slow to disco brasil edition. der berliner jack tennis hat für uns seine magischen hände an den track gelegt und eine dj-freundliche yacht-disco version abgeliefert, die santa cruz selbst so begeistert hat, dass er uns persönlich darum bat diesen remix zu veröffentlichen. jack tennis ist ein berliner produzent, der kopf vielerlei projekte ist. er veröffentlicht seine eigene musik unter dem namen hotlane (gomma records) und liefert stetig disco-edits für das einflussreiche uk disco label midnight riot (von yam who!). um die veröffentlichung abzurunden, konnten wir die italienische rework/edit legende les inferno überzeugen uns seinen unveröffentlichten track brazilewis einen chill-out slo mo groover zur verfügung zu stellen. die nummer findet sich schon seit einiger zeit in jedem dj supermarkt set! les inferno veröffentlicht auf samosa records, eines der hippsten neuen edit/rework labels, das eigentlich strictly vinyl ist. seine tracks wurden z.b. schon von niemand geringerem als moodyman in seinen sets eingesetzt. eine streng limitierte 10inch mit den beiden tracks wird es erst ende august geben.

2x12 inch lp+mp3!too slow to disco volume 3 - this is bottled sunshine! die meisten songs auf dieser äusserst erfolgreichen compilation reihe mögen die charts verpasst haben, können aber problemlos herzen brechen. killer-tunes, geschrieben und gespielt von völlig übertalentierten musikern, die später in ihrem leben oftmals den einen oder anderen welthit für andere musiker schrieben und sich etliche grammys in die tasche stecken konnten. alle zutaten, die den too slow to disco volumes 1, 2 und der the ladies edition so viele fans von berlin bis new york, von barcelona bis bottrop beschert haben, sind wieder am start für eine weitere runde fast tanzbarer opulenz. dj supermarkt schüttet auch auf tstd3 wieder ein füllhorn von vergessenen obskuritäten und kostbaren schätzen aus, die dem erfolgreichen konzept folgen: all killer, no filler. mit dabei sind u.a. cornelius bumpus (ex-steely dan), larry carlton (ebenso ex-steely dan), dwight druick (mit dem ersten französische track), billy mernit (der erste brite auf der compilation) sowie grateful dead (!!!), bob welch und lee ritenour. der sommer kann kommen!

die sonne scheint hier nur für das schöne und starke geschlecht, denn diese heldinnen der späten siebziger jahre haben wahrlich großartiges geleistet. sie waren vorreiterinnen der weiblichen pop revolution. auf unserer neuerlichen perlenschau vereinen wir einige wunderbare, ungehobene schätze. the ladies of too slow to disco stellt neben etablierten namen (u.a. carole king, rickie lee jones, carly simon) auch künstlerinnen vor, die diesseits des atlantiks wohl nur einige wenige bisher zu ohren gekommen sein dürften (evie sands, franne golde u.v.m.).
