archeo are at it again, finding yet more hidden delights from italy s bountiful musical past. paolo modugno s brise d automne originally came out in 1988 and has since been highly coveted by record collectors fascinated with the new age delights contained within. archeo have gone all out for this reissue, pressing the album on heavy vinyl to allow the music to really breathe, and adding a second disc with two tracks previously unavailable on vinyl. the curious fusion of organic and electronic elements with a daring approach to production makes for one of the most unique records you re likely to hear all year.

“la conquista di luna” (the moon’s conquest, 1969) is composer luciano michelini’s masterpiece, one of the rarest and most sought italian lp’s, an imaginary sci-fi soundtrack enriched by the presence of th e legendary singer edda dell’orso on some tracks. drawing its structure from classical and orchestral soundtracks, the album is tinged with prog elements ahead of their time, soft psychede lia and moments of sheer genius: more than 40 years after its first release, it still guarantees a jaw-dropping listening experience.

the goal with supernova was to look back to the disco era but with a synth heavy and altogether more cosmic twist. alex is a big fun of modern russian classical music composing style. also he was inspired by early english progressive scene (yes, elo etc). this is why u-kas melodic lines are long and not so straight sometimes. and oleg is musically far from academic school and prefers zappa, early german electronic and psychedelic krautrock etc.
